Maruti Suzuki will Establish 1,500 EV Workshops in India

The company Maruti Suzuki is the biggest carmaker in India, and it seems the company is taking its move already into the electric vehicle (EV) market. Before the company launches its first all-electric model, the e Vitara, in September 2025, it has said that it aims to have an excess of 1,500 EV-specific workshops around the nation.

Such an aggressive expansion is part of a long-term strategy of Maruti Suzuki to take the overall number of service points to more than 8,000 through 2030-31.

How to be ready for the EV Revolution

As their Vitara model nears India, Maruti Suzuki is investing wisely so that the EV owners also enjoy a hassle-free ownership experience. The 1,500 planned workshops will also be equipped with EV diagnostics equipment, charging facilities, and, above all, highly trained technicians to deal with the high-voltage electric systems.

This is a major transition towards automotive service in India, and points to long-term adoption of EVs by Maruti.

e-Vitara: Maruti’s First Electric Offering

The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara has already come on sale in other markets, and it is already making its debut in India, which has two battery pack variants -49kWh and 61 kWh.

We can expect the e-Vitara with a probable real-life range of up to 500km to take direct notice of competitors such as the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV. It will also satisfy the consumer need for high-end, urban-friendly electric SUVs, as seen to be more and more sought out by customers, as it will be for Maruti.

Well, White After-sales Backbone

Maruti Suzuki is now in a position of having the largest network of automotive services in India, where more than 5,400 workshops are already open. Lately, the brand made a milestone through servicing 24.5 lakh vehicles within a month. Such a solid backbone will help it scale up rapidly in order to support the EVs, and the shift towards electric mobility will be less shaky and consumer-friendly.

With the electric revolution gathering momentum in India, and a roll-out of Maruti Suzuki EV-ready services to all their service outlets, Maruti Suzuki is poised to become a mighty competitor in the electric mobility game, by providing reliable, affordable, and service-based electric mobility to the masses.
