Lamborghini is undoubtedly one of the dream cars of most of the individual. The enthusiasm and craze are flaunted by Lamborghini by achieving impressive results for the first six months of 2024. The company is particularly popular for its luxury sports car and has record-breaking numbers in car deliveries, revenue, and operating income. It is reported that this success is attributed to the popularity of their three main models: the Revuelto, Urus, and Huracán.
From January to June 2024, Lamborghini delivered a total of 5,558 cars. This achievement generated revenue of €1,621 million, marking a 14.1% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The operating profit also reached a new high of €458 million. These figures highlight the brand's growth and market demand for its high-performance vehicles.
Stephan Winkelmann, the Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, expressed pride in the company's performance. He emphasized that Lamborghini is in a crucial phase of its growth, supported by significant investments aimed at expanding its product lineup. Winkelmann highlighted that these investments are essential for sustaining growth and maintaining Lamborghini's leadership in the luxury sports car sector.
The company's profitability reached 28.2%, reflecting the effectiveness of Lamborghini's strategic approach. This success demonstrates a balanced relationship between car deliveries and financial performance. Paolo Poma, the Managing Director and CFO of Lamborghini, noted that the company's growth trend has been solidified. He mentioned that despite the industry's shift towards hybrid technology, Lamborghini's strong order bank and positive market trends ensure continued growth in key financial and business metrics.
Lamborghini's success is evident in its global distribution. The company's deliveries were well-balanced across major regions. In the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) region, 2,498 cars were delivered. The Americas saw 1,849 deliveries, while the APAC (Asia-Pacific) region accounted for 1,211 deliveries. The United States remained the largest single market with 1,621 cars delivered. Other significant markets included Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, China (including Hong Kong and Macao), and Italy.
The order bank for Lamborghini remains robust. For the Revuelto, there is a waiting period of more than two years. Orders for the Huracán cover the entire production run until its planned end in December. The Urus SE, introduced at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition in April, has received a positive response from customers, with orders covering about a year's production.
Lamborghini's Direzione Cor Tauri program plays a key role in the company's success. This program focuses on continuous decarbonization and significant innovation. A major milestone is expected with the unveiling of the successor to the Huracán at Monterey Car Week on August 16. This new High-Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) will complete the hybridization of Lamborghini's range. It features a twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a hybrid system, promising exceptional performance and driving experience.
To summarize, Lamborghini's record-breaking performance in the first half of 2024 highlights the company's strength in the luxury sports car market. The impressive delivery numbers, revenue growth, and operating profit demonstrate the success of its strategic investments and product offerings. With a strong order bank and ongoing commitment to innovation, Lamborghini is well-positioned for continued growth and leadership in the industry. The upcoming release of new models and advancements in hybrid technology further reinforce the brand's dedication to excellence and customer satisfaction.
