Kia Carens Facelift Spied Again, Launch in 2025
Kia Motors is gearing up to launch the facelifted version of the Carens in India, with the updated model expected to hit the market in early 2025. The Carens, first launched in January 2022, is undergoing a mid-cycle refresh to keep it competitive in the crossover MPV segment.
Recent spy shots have revealed several subtle changes to the Carens' exterior:
Front End: The facelifted Carens features new LED headlamps connected by a sleek LED strip across the hood. The grille has been redesigned with a chrome accent and a larger, blacked-out air dam.
Side Profile: The Carens now sports new dual-tone, diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the overall side profile remains largely unchanged.
Rear End: Though heavily camouflaged, it is expected to feature a connected LED light bar design similar to the front. The spy shots also suggest the inclusion of a 360-degree camera system, indicated by camera lenses on the ORVMs.
Inside, the Carens facelift is anticipated to receive several upgrades:
Twin-Screen Setup: A new twin-screen setup, akin to the ones in the Seltos and Sonet, is expected to enhance the tech appeal.
ADAS: The facelifted model is likely to include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), though the specific level of autonomy is yet to be confirmed.
Additional Features: Wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, wireless smartphone connectivity, and connected car technology are also expected. Safety features such as six airbags, parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a rear parking camera will likely be standard across all variants.
The facelifted Carens is expected to retain the current model's engine options:
1.5-litre N/A Petrol: 114 bhp and 144 Nm torque.
1.5-litre Turbo-Petrol: 158 bhp and 253 Nm torque.
1.5-litre Diesel: 115 bhp and 250 Nm torque.
Transmission choices will likely remain the same, including:
6-speed Manual (MT)
7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT)
6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT)
6-speed Automatic (AT)
While the official launch date is yet to be announced, the Kia Carens facelift is expected to debut in early 2025. The updates are aimed at keeping the Carens competitive in the growing crossover MPV market.
