Tata Unveils Plans for EVs and Petrol Power

This week, Tata Motors made a big announcement by formally releasing fuel versions of its well-liked Harrier and Safari SUVs. A 1.5-liter TGDi petrol engine with 168 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque powers these new models, which come with both manual and automatic transmission options. Their competitiveness is further increased by feature enhancements like a 14.5-inch touchscreen with Dolby Atmos, memory ORVMs, and enhanced Level 2 ADAS.

Tata presented their 2026 EV roadmap in addition to petrol options, confirming the introduction of the Sierra EV, a facelifted Punch EV, and a new luxury EV sub-brand called Avinya.

Maruti Suzuki: Safety Ratings Highlight

Global NCAP examined the Celerio and Ciaz. The two-airbag version of the Celerio received a lower safety score than the six-airbag version, with the Celerio's results differing greatly depending on equipment levels.

Customers were reminded that safety performance is still a crucial differentiator in purchasing decisions by the Ciaz's low score.
