The company has significantly bolstered its charging infrastructure by adding a total of 11 ultra-fast charging stations. Each station is equipped with three charging points, including units with DC capacities of 150 kW, 60 kW, and 30 kW, aligning with Hyundai's commitment to revolutionizing the EV ownership experience. The strategic placement of these stations is set to contribute to the creation of a robust EV ecosystem.
Jae Wan Ryu, Executive Director of Corporate Planning at Hyundai Motor India, shared insights into the company's vision, stating, “At Hyundai Motor India, we have always strived to create new benchmarks and lead the industry by example." He emphasized Hyundai's dedication to fulfilling customer needs, consistent with the global vision of 'Progress for Humanity'. The expansion of the Ultra-Fast charging stations to 11 locations underscores the company's commitment to playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable and environmentally conscious mobility solutions in India.
These ultra-fast charging stations are uniquely positioned at 6 major cities – Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Gurugram, and Bangalore – and 5 key highway locations – Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Mumbai-Surat, and Mumbai-Nashik – demonstrate Hyundai's comprehensive approach, catering to both urban and highway travel needs.
Hyundai proudly asserts itself as the sole Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in India which has established 11 ultra-fast charging stations at public locations. What sets these chargers apart is their round-the-clock availability, offering convenience and accessibility to all electric vehicle users, irrespective of the brand they own. This inclusivity plays a crucial role in supporting the growing electric vehicle community in India. The benefits of Hyundai's ultra-fast DC chargers extend beyond accessibility, emphasizing the importance of quick charging. Specifically, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 customers are in for a treat, as they can charge their vehicles from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes. Moreover, Hyundai has implemented an attractive pricing structure for these charging sessions, fostering an economically viable environment for customers.
To ensure a seamless charging experience, Hyundai leverages technology with its myHyundai app. This user-friendly application enables customers to discover charging stations, navigate to them, pre-book charging slots, facilitate digital payments, and monitor charging status, consolidating essential features in one platform.
Hyundai's commitment to future developments in the EV infrastructure is evident in its plans to further expand the ultra-fast charging station network. Additionally, the company has set a goal to install 100 charging stations by 2027, aligning with its agreement with the Government of Tamil Nadu, as announced during the Global Investor Meet in January 2024.
