Honda Cars India Achieves 2 Lakh Export Milestone

The export history of Honda Cars India has been a stable but fast-growing plan. It sold all 50,000 out of its initial shipment of products in 2021 to the SAARC nations, as well as South Africa and SADD countries.

The subsequent 50,000 worth of vehicles had a shipment span across more than 2.5 years. The greatest progress was, however, recorded recently, and 100,000 units were shipped within a span of two years. Such a quick pace proves the emerging popularity of Honda in the global markets.

Expanding Global Reach

The exporting was initially restricted to the regional area, but that is no longer the case, considering that HCIL has expanded its presence. Its car models today are being exported to 33 countries, such as the developed markets of Japan, Mexico, and Turkey, but also in the emerging regions of South America and the Caribbean.

Japan has the highest export on HCIL of 30 per cent, then South Africa and SADC countries with 26 per cent, then Mexico with 19 per cent, and Turkey with 16 per cent. The rest 9 per cent is distributed to the Middle East, SAARC, Caribbean and South America.

Models Driving Exports

The two major models that HCIL uses in its global shipments include Honda City and Honda Elevate (known as WR-V in Japan). They contribute 78 per cent of the total exports.

The remaining 22 per cent of the export is dominated by other models like the Brio, Amaze, Jazz, BR-V, Mobilio, City e: H EV, Accord and the CR-V that means export is focused though having a diversified strategy.

Commitment to Quality and ‘Make in India’

The Honda manufacturing plants in India will be consistent with the global standards of quality production, delivering quality vehicles both locally and abroad.

On the success, Kunal Behl, the Vice President of Markets and Sales at HCIL, remarked that it makes Honda Cars India very proud of attaining 200,000 export units. The fact that we have a milestone in worldwide appreciation of our India-made cars is a testament to the hard work of our top talents. We are also determined by the Make in India to cater to the local as well as the overseas market.
