The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, spanning from February 1 to February 3, provided a comprehensive overview of India's current automotive landscape and offered a sneak peek into its future trajectory. While the focus predominantly centred on green mobility, there were also notable Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles that caught the attention of enthusiasts.

Mercedes-Benz Concept EQG
A bold move towards electric mobility, the Concept EQG marks the electrification of the iconic G-Wagon, first introduced in 1979. Featuring an illuminated front grille, logo, and roof light bar, the EQG maintains the G-Wagon's distinctive design. Expected international launch in the second half of the year, with an Indian launch confirmed for the following year.
Skoda Enyaq iV
Skoda's inaugural all-electric SUV, the Enyaq iV, is built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform. Sporting wagon-like aesthetics, it promises sustainability with a 13-inch touchscreen, head-up display, and various power outputs ranging from 146bhp to 302bhp.
Tata Curvv
A showstopper, the Tata Curvv, now in its production version, stole the limelight. It is expected to hit the market around the festive season. Showcasing Tata's evolving design language, the Curvv features a coupe-SUV roof and flush door handles, offering a distinctive appearance.
Tata Harrier.ev
Tata Motors presented the near-production form of the Harrier.ev, emphasizing its All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system for enhanced off-roading capabilities. Staying true to the ICE Harrier's styling, the EV variant promises a unique driving experience.
Tata Altroz Racer
The sporty iteration of the Altroz, known as the Altroz Racer, exhibited cosmetic enhancements, including a two-tone paint job and racing stripes. Running on a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with 119bhp and 170Nm torque, it boasts a performance-oriented design.
Tata Nexon iCNG
Joining the Nexon lineup, Tata introduced the CNG variant with a twin-tank design, akin to the Altroz iCNG. Preparing for an imminent launch, the CNG Nexon signifies Tata's commitment to diverse fuel options.
Mahindra BE Rall-E
A glimpse into Mahindra's offroad concept BE Rall-E, based on the BE platform, hinted at the potential of electric off-road-ready vehicles. The concept targets a dual-motor setup, 250-290kW power, 0-100kmph in 5-6 seconds, and supports 60-80kWh batteries with 175kW fast charging.
Maruti Suzuki eVX
Maruti Suzuki's debut electric car, the eVX, showcased at the expo, is a collaborative effort with Toyota. In its concept form, the eVX boasts a 60kWh battery and claims a range of 550km, with production confirmation in the pipeline.
Hyundai Nexo
An intriguing addition to the expo was the Hyundai Nexo, a Hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) with a WLTP range of 666km. Reflecting the government's push for greener fuels, the Nexo exemplifies the potential future of mobility in India.
