The new "Boss Mode" function for rear-seat passengers in the Mahindra XEV 9S
Important interior and design features include the panoramic sunroof, reclinable seats, and triple-screen arrangement.
The XEV 9S, Mahindra's next three-row electric SUV, will have an electric "Boss Mode," which is a significant improvement over the manual version found in its ICE brother. The front passenger seat can be moved and reclined by the second-row passenger using a special control panel, greatly expanding legroom.
The rear-seat experience is enhanced by this function to seem more executive and chauffeur-like.
With a dashboard-wide triple-screen configuration that includes an instrument cluster, infotainment, and a passenger-specific screen, the interior closely resembles the XEV 9e.
A three-row, seven-seater configuration is supported by the XEV 9S.
In addition to being slidable, the seats in the second row can electronically recline for further comfort.
The front seat base may be shifted to make more room for people in the second row, thanks to the Boss Mode.
A two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, and premium soft-touch materials are also revealed by teasers. The spacious, lounge-like atmosphere is further enhanced by the full-length panoramic sunroof.
The XEV 9S is based on Mahindra's INGLO skateboard EV platform, which also serves as the basis for the BE 6 and XEV 9e.
The 9S is anticipated to use the 59 kWh and 79 kWh LFP battery packs from its brothers; however, Mahindra has not yet verified the powertrain specifications. The electric motor, which is rear-mounted and has about 231 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, is probably going to be comparable as well, but there are rumors of an AWD version in the future.
The pricing and worldwide launch are scheduled for November 27, 2025, at Mahindra's "Scream Electric" event in Bengaluru.
Mahindra is presenting the XEV 9S as a high-end, luxury-focused EV designed for families and escorted travel, making it more than simply another electric SUV. Adjustable chairs and the motorized Boss Mode add a level of refinement that is typically only found in expensive luxury vehicles.
