Now, BYD is making larger strides in India's profitable market with a said Rs 85,000 Cr investment in a new manufacturing facility in the region around Hyderabad, Telangana State.
Recently, BYD has been shown three possible locations by the Telangana State Government as it targets to be India's first State Government to house a BYD manufacturing plant.

The project cost of BYD's new Indian facility is pegged around Rs 85,000 Cr, and it may be spread across a 500-acre plot with an annual output of approximately 6,00,000 lakh units. The plant is expected to come on stream by 2032.
Rs. 85k Cr Plant with 600k Annual Production
In addition to the car production plant, BYD is also interested in setting up a battery production plant with a capacity of 20 GWh. The new plant in the vicinity of Hyderabad is expected to give rise to several parts and components plants, generating employment and business for Telangana State.
This is not the first instance where BYD has expressed interest in creating a manufacturing presence in India, but it has been put off because of more stringent regulations against Chinese investments in India. The policies have been recently reformed, and a lot of restrictions have been relaxed, and BYD is now going ahead to create a manufacturing presence in India to sell their products at more affordable prices.
BYD focused on Innovation
BYD is doing this when Tesla sales are plummeting in international markets such as Europe. Meanwhile, BYD is innovating and refining its technology continuously to provide a superior product compared to what it had previously. Wading through water, leaping over potholes, and housing a launchpad for a drone are some of the most significant innovations BYD has devised.

By setting up an Rs 85,000 Cr plant in Telangana, the company is set to further fortify its presence and propel the uptake of electric mobility. As the world EV ecosystem continues to evolve, BYD's strategic growth, combined with its emphasis on innovation, makes it a force to be reckoned with in the industry. The next few years will reveal how well the company manages regulatory environments and market competition to realize its vision in India.
