BMW has announced an impressive offering for all its loyal customers. There is no doubt that BMW never fails to impress its customers with a series of new models or customization but this time it has taken a big step, a significant move. On July 24, this brand is set to launch not one but four vehicles altogether. This Lineup includes luxury sedans, electric crossovers, and an electric scooter making it a happening launch of the year. Let’s wait no more and read in detail about the cars waiting ahead of us:
BMW is introducing the long wheelbase (LWB) version of the 5 Series in India, making it the first right-hand drive market and the second overall to receive this model. This new 5 Series LWB stands out with its impressive dimensions, measuring 5,175mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,520mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,105mm. This makes it larger than the upcoming next-generation Mercedes Benz E-Class LWB.
Inside, the 5 Series LWB features a twin-screen setup that includes a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, both running on BMW's latest 8.5 operating system. Other luxurious features include four-zone climate control, an 18-speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system, ventilated and powered front seats with memory functions, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Pre-bookings for this model are now open at all BMW dealerships and on the company's official website.
The fourth generation of the Mini Cooper S is set to debut in India. Pre-bookings started earlier this month with a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. The new Mini Cooper S will come with several cosmetic updates, including a larger 9.5-inch round central touchscreen infotainment system with an OLED display, MINI Connected car technology, an Intelligent Personal Assistant, and a Fisheye In-car Camera.
Under the hood, the Mini Cooper S retains its 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, now delivering 201 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque. This represents an increase of 26 bhp and 20 Nm over its predecessor. Power is sent to the front wheels through a standard 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
In addition to the Cooper S, BMW will also launch the all-electric Mini Countryman in India. Pre-bookings for this electric crossover are also available with a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. The Mini Countryman Electric maintains a familiar design with subtle changes to distinguish it from its gasoline counterpart. It shares many features with the Mini Cooper S, but with the addition of Level 2 ADAS.
The Mini Countryman Electric is powered by a front-mounted electric motor generating 201 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds. There's also a more powerful version, the Countryman SE ALL4, which produces 494 Nm of torque. The base variant offers a range of 462 km on a single charge, while the SE version provides a range of 433 km, according to WLTP standards.
BMW Motorrad is set to introduce its first electric scooter, the CE 04, in India. This marks BMW's entry into the electric two-wheeler market in the country. The CE 04 is powered by a 15kW, permanent magnet, liquid-cooled synchronous electric motor, drawing energy from an 8.9 kWh battery. It boasts a peak range of 130 km on a single charge and can reach a top speed of 120 kmph.
In the USA, the CE 04 is priced at USD 12,430 (approximately Rs. 10.38 lakh). As a Completely Built Unit (CBU), it is expected to be priced similarly in India, making it the most expensive scooter in the market.
Overall, BMW's upcoming launches on July 24 mark a significant expansion of their portfolio in India, catering to a wide range of preferences from luxury sedans to electric vehicles. The introduction of the 5 Series LWB, Mini Cooper S, Mini Countryman Electric, and the CE 04 electric scooter showcases BMW's commitment to innovation and sustainability. With these new models, BMW is set to capture the interest of both traditional car enthusiasts and those looking for eco-friendly alternatives. As the automotive industry evolves, BMW continues to lead the way with cutting-edge technology and stylish design.
