BMW Unveils Sharper, Sportier M2 CS with Aggressive Ducktail Spoiler

BMW has revealed its newest performance coupe -- the M2 CS -- at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2025, signalling the arrival of a more hardcore, track-ready version of the standard M2.

Full technical specifications will be available on May 28. For now, the details show that the new M2 CS will be improved, both aesthetically and performance-wise.

Signature CS Styling: Subtle Yet Sporty

The new M2 CS stands out in terms of how aggressive but tasteful the updates are designed. Starting at the front, there’s a new grille and slightly reshaped bumper air intakes for better engine cooling. The side profile has a subtle enhancement with a set of gold finished alloy wheels, a common signifier of any BMW CS model.

At the rear, the main talking point is easily the sensational ducktail spoiler — which pays homage to motorsport aerodynamics and also provides functional high-speed stability.

The rear diffuser has also received some design changes in each of the corners in the way it manages airflow.

Performance-Enhanced Powertrain with Lightweight Components

Under the hood, the M2 CS features a 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six — the same engine found under the hood of the M2. The power will be boosted to an estimated 530hp and 650Nm of torque — around 50hp and 100Nm larger than the standard M2.

As with all new M2’s, an 8-speed automatic gearbox will be paired with the engine but if the model we saw at the press test launch is any indication, the new M2 CS won’t come with a manual transmission.

In order to achieve the power increase, the M2 CS will come with a retuned suspension setup, a titanium exhaust system for weight saving, and carbon ceramic brakes for more stopping power.

Race-Inspired Cabin

In addition, the cabin has been designed as a driver focused cockpit. Expect the M performance bucket seats, some carbon fibre trim, and CS badging on don sills and seat backs. The whole interior of the vehicle shows a hint of the track focused DNA it has but not compromising on on-road comforts.

BMW will unveil full specifications and pricing on May 28, but the M2 CS already promises to be a potent mix of performance, exclusivity, and design accuracy.
