Almost 11,000 Cybertrucks were recalled for risk of a crash, Tesla faced this situation for 4th time in 5 months

Tesla Cybtertruck has been facing a tough time lately. The situation has worsened to this extent that in 5 months this is the 4th time it is recalled for risk of a crash. It announced on Tuesday that it is recalling the majority of its Cybertrucks in the United States due to problems with the windshield wipers and exterior trim. This move marks the fourth recall for the 2024 Cybertruck in just five months, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Windshield Wiper Concerns

The primary issue revolves around the windshield wiper motor, which is faulty. If the motor fails, it could impair the driver's visibility during rainy or snowy conditions. Reduced visibility increases the chances of accidents because drivers may not see obstacles or other vehicles.

Rear Trunk Trim Issue

In addition to the wiper problem, Tesla is also addressing issues with the rear trunk trim. This trim, if not properly secured, could come loose while driving. A loose trim poses dangers to other motorists on the road as it could potentially fall off and cause accidents or damage to nearby vehicles.

Recall Details and Fixes

Tesla has taken responsibility for these issues and has announced a recall to rectify them. Owners of the affected Cybertrucks will have the windshield wiper motor repaired at no cost. Moreover, Tesla will ensure that the rear trunk trim is securely fitted to prevent any future risks. For vehicles where the trim has already detached, Tesla will replace it to eliminate the hazard.

Previous Recalls

This is not the first time the Tesla Cybertruck has faced recalls. Earlier in April, a different safety concern arose related to the accelerator pedal pad. This part could become dislodged and potentially cause the accelerator to stick, leading to unintended acceleration. About 4,000 Cybertrucks were affected by this issue, prompting Tesla to take similar corrective actions.

In conclusion, Tesla's decision to recall over 11,000 Cybertrucks underscores its commitment to prioritizing driver and road safety. Addressing these issues promptly and comprehensively is crucial to maintaining the trust and safety of Tesla vehicle owners and the general public. By fixing the faulty windshield wiper motors and securing the rear trunk trim, Tesla aims to ensure that all Cybertrucks on the road meet the highest safety standards, minimizing the risks of accidents and potential harm to other road users.
