2026 Tata Tiago Smart Variant Reaches Dealerships
The 2026 Tata Tiago facelift's base Smart variant has begun arriving at dealerships nationwide, priced from Rs. 4.69 lakh ex-showroom.
The updated hatchback is offered in six variants with both petrol and CNG powertrain options, each paired with a five-speed manual gearbox.
The 2026 Tata Tiago facelift has officially started making its way to dealerships across the country.
Following its launch earlier in the year, the updated hatchback is now physically accessible to buyers, with the base Smart variant heading the line-up at a starting price of Rs. 4.69 lakh, ex-showroom. The car sits at the more affordable end of a six-variant line-up and is available with both petrol and CNG fuel options.
Both the petrol and CNG versions of the Smart variant draw motivation from a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor paired with a five-speed manual transmission as standard.
In petrol form, the engine produces 85bhp and 113Nm of torque. Switch to CNG mode, and those figures ease to 74bhp and 96Nm. It is worth noting that the automatic gearbox option, in the form of an AMT unit, is reserved for higher variants of the Tiago and is not available on the base Smart trim.
On the outside, the 2026 Tiago Smart gets a new black grille upfront, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and 14-inch steel wheels.
The exterior detailing also includes black door handles and outside rear-view mirrors, LED taillights, an integrated spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp, and Tiago lettering across the tailgate. It is a fairly clean update that keeps the silhouette familiar while bringing the car visually in line with the wider facelift treatment.
Step inside and the cabin greets you with a new freestanding coloured instrument cluster, a redesigned two-spoke steering wheel featuring a digital Tata logo, and improved under-thigh support for the front seats. The tilt-adjustable steering adds a degree of ergonomic flexibility that was worth noting on an entry-level offering.
On the safety front, Tata Motors has equipped the Smart variant with six airbags, reverse parking sensors, and ABS with EBD as standard, which is a commendable baseline for this price point.
Beyond the Smart, the 2026 Tiago is available across a total of six variants and six colour options. Each tier steps up in features and convenience, with higher trims gaining the AMT transmission across both fuel types.
The arrival at dealerships marks a key milestone in the model's updated chapter, and prospective buyers can now view and assess the car in person before making their decision.
