Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the updated Baleno will launch in India on 5 September 2026.
The model is expected to receive exterior and cabin updates, while the existing petrol and CNG options are likely to continue.
Maruti Suzuki will launch the updated Baleno in India on 5 September 2026. The model has been spotted testing ahead of its introduction, providing an early indication of some of the changes expected with the update.
Maruti Suzuki has not yet confirmed whether the upcoming Baleno will be a facelift or a more extensive generation update. Based on the test vehicles seen so far, the model is expected to retain its overall shape while receiving changes to its exterior and equipment.
Test vehicles indicate that most of the exterior changes could be concentrated at the front. The updated Baleno is expected to receive a revised grille with a thin chrome strip connecting the headlamps.
Changes at the rear are expected to be limited. The 16-inch alloy wheels could also receive a new design. Complete exterior details will be revealed when the updated model is launched.
The overall dashboard layout is expected to remain largely unchanged, although Maruti Suzuki could introduce new upholstery and an updated interior colour theme.
The current Baleno is available with features such as:
Head-up display
360-degree camera
9-inch touchscreen infotainment system
Automatic climate control
Analogue-digital instrument cluster
Height-adjustable driver's seat
The existing infotainment system could potentially be replaced by the 10.1-inch touchscreen offered with the updated Brezza. However, Maruti Suzuki has not confirmed this feature for the upcoming Baleno.
The updated Baleno is expected to continue with its existing engine options:
1.2L K-Series Petrol Engine: Outputting 88 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Factory-Fitted CNG Variant: The CNG version is expected to continue with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Turbo-Petrol Option: The 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine could also be offered with the updated Baleno, although Maruti Suzuki has not confirmed its availability.
The updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno will continue to compete with models such as the Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20 in India's premium hatchback segment.
Maruti Suzuki has not announced prices for the updated model. The complete variant lineup, specifications, features and pricing are expected to be revealed when the Baleno launches on 5 September 2026.
The upcoming update is expected to focus primarily on design and equipment changes while retaining the Baleno's existing petrol and CNG powertrain options. More details will become available closer to its launch.
