2025 Toyota Corolla Cross Facelift Unveiled in Europe With GR Sport Trim and Major Interior Upgrades

Toyota has officially unveiled the 2025 Corolla Cross facelift, which includes various design and tech improvements, as well as the eagerly anticipated GR Sport variant.

Although the updated version premiered in ASEAN markets last year, European buyers will receive a unique model specific to the characteristics of the region.

New Sharp Design With Minor, Yet Stylish Details

On the outside, the facelifted Corolla Cross has adaptive LED headlights, a new L-shaped daytime running light signature, and a body-coloured honeycomb grille, which features an illuminated light bar between the headlights. These revisions have resulted in a more premium, futuristic look to the SUV.

At the rear, Toyota has changed the C-shaped LED tail lamps, which also feature integrated aero fins for airflow management and driving stability.

A redesigned “Corolla Cross” graphic on the tailgate, as well as new 18-inch alloy wheels, completes the exterior update.

A Newer, More Connected Cabin

On the inside, the Corolla Cross receives meaningful advancements related to comfort, function, and tech features.

Highlights include a wide centre console, Qi wireless charging, several USB-C ports, newly redesigned cupholders and gear selector. Toyota claims Android Auto is now 1.5x faster, giving it equivalent performance to Apple CarPlay.

In terms of tech, all but the base models have a 12.3-inch digital instrument display in the instrument cluster and a 10.5-inch infotainment touchscreen with Toyota Smart Connect.

To decrease cabin noise, Toyota has made several improvements, including improved roof bonding, added sound insulation, inspected materials in the firewall, and a trip-layer dashboard silencer.

The Powertrain Line-Up Continues to be Hybrid-Only

The powertrain line-up continues to be hybrid-only with two variants:

  • Hybrid 140: 1.8-litre petrol at 140 PS

  • Hybrid 200: 2.0-litre petrol at 197 PS with AWD-i

The AWD-i variant has a 42 PS rear electric motor and a new Snow Extra mode to aid winter traction.

The GR Sport version joins the European Corolla Cross line-up for the first time; it has a more aggressive front end, unique 19-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels, Storm Grey paint, and gloss black badging. The suspension is lowered 10 mm for a sportier profile.

On the inside, the seats use Brin Naub suede-effect material, there is red stitching, GR branding, paddle shifters, and a Sport Mode which allows for better throttle response and sharper upshifts.

By the end of these updates, the 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross hopes to establish itself as a tech-savvy, fashionable, and efficient compact crossover--perfect for urban buyers who want hybrid-impressiveness without sacrificing comfort or style.
