2025 Maruti Ertiga reaches showroom, with improved safety features

Maruti has given the 2025 Ertiga a discreet but discernible facelift. The MPV has also grown in length with the new model now measuring 4,435mm (a 40mm increase over the old model).

Roof-mounted rear spoiler enhances its sporty image, and updated rear quarter panels, taillights, and tailgate add to the updated rear profile.

The front grille and rear lamp are, however, the same as those of the current, next Ertiga, which ensures continuity with the design language of the current Ertiga.

Interior and Safety Updates

On the inside, the most notable feature is safety, with the Ertiga coming standard with 6 airbags across all variants; an improvement over the 4-airbag (top variant) configuration of its predecessor.

The seven seats have all three-point seat belts, and the second row middle passenger has an adequate headrest. The range-topping ZXi+ variant also adds a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) to increase convenience.

A redesigned AC layout has enhanced the comfort. Whereas the previous model features a roof-mounted vent in the second and third rows, the 2025 design places the second-row vents in the centre console with two USB Type-C charging ports.

It is also equipped with a pair of side-mounted vents that are adjustable in fan speed and has two USB Type-C charging ports on the upper trims. The top variant now has a PM 2.5 cabin air filter.

Technology and specification

The updated model retains most of its earlier features but adds a few key highlights such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, Arkamys premium audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a colour TFT MID display.

On the safety front, it comes equipped with an electronic stability program, hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD and brake assist, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and central locking. Higher variants also benefit from advanced connectivity options through Suzuki Connect.

No Changes in Powertrain

There are still no changes under the bonnet; it still has the same 1.5-litre K15C smart hybrid petrol engine, which is rated to produce 103 PS and 139 Nm of torque, with transmission being either 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.

The CNG version remains similar in power of 87 PS and 121.5 Nm, but with a 5-speed manual transmission.

With its added safety features, improved comfort, and subtle design updates, the 2025 Maruti Ertiga strengthens its position as a practical and family-friendly MPV, offering reliability and modern conveniences without changing its trusted powertrain.
