2025 Discovery Sport Gets New Trims, More Features

Land Rover has refreshed the Discovery Sport for 2025, bringing in renamed variants, enhanced standard equipment, and more personalization options.

Originally launched in 2014, this midsize luxury SUV continues to compete with the likes of the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Volvo XC60.

What’s New in the 2025 Variant Line-Up?

The variant naming has been overhauled across global markets:

Dynamic SE (previously sold in India) is now called Landmark.
The entry-level S becomes Dynamic S.
The top-end Dynamic HSE is now called Metropolitan.
These refreshed trims bring updated styling and feature enhancements to make each variant distinct.

Updated Styling Across the Trims

Each new trim level gets its own identity:

Landmark gets skid plates and puddle lights with a mountain range logo inspired by the original 1989 Discovery, plus roof rails.
Metropolitan features a luxury-focused design with silver-finished ‘Discovery’ bonnet lettering, grille, and skid plates, along with 20-inch alloy wheels (gloss-black optional).
Dynamic S leans sporty, with blacked-out details including the grille, wheel arches, bumpers, and bonnet lettering.

Cabin Gets a Big Tech Boost

The 2025 update adds more tech as standard across the board:

A digital driver’s display
An 11.4-inch curved Pivi Pro infotainment screen
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Steering-mounted paddle shifters

In addition:

Landmark trim adds a panoramic glass roof, sliding and reclining second-row seats, device holders for rear passengers, and a 360-degree camera.
Metropolitan trim steps it up with Windsor leather upholstery, 14-way heated and cooled front seats, a 14-speaker 650W Meridian sound system, digital IRVM, and a cabin air purifier.

Personalise with New Accessory Packs

In 2025, Land Rover expands its accessory offerings for the Discovery Sport. In addition to the existing 'Biking Adventures' and 'For Dogs' packs, new themed options include:
- Beach Days – cooler box, sunshades, collapsible load-space organiser
- Road Trip – rear-seat device holders, crossbars, roof box
- Snow Days – ski/snowboard carriers, rubber mats, snow traction system

Powertrain: No Mechanical Changes Yet

Mechanically, the Discovery Sport continues unchanged:

2.0-litre Ingenium mild-hybrid petrol engine
- Output: 249hp and 365Nm
2.0-litre Ingenium mild-hybrid diesel engine
- Output: 204hp and 430Nm
  Both engines come paired with a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.

For international markets, there's also a plug-in hybrid option pairing a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a 15kWh battery, delivering up to 309hp and 540Nm.

India Launch: Still Under Wraps

While the Discovery Sport is assembled in India, Land Rover hasn’t confirmed when the 2025 model will hit Indian showrooms. As of now, the SUV is priced at ₹67.9 lakh, but the updated version is expected to cost more once launched.
