2025 BYD Seal Launched in India: Key Upgrades You Should Know

BYD India has launched the new Seal electric sedan for 2025 at a starting price of ₹41 lakh (ex-showroom). This is not a complete redesign but rather a thoughtful refresh that brings several mechanical and technological improvements in line with expectations for a premium EV. Drawing inspiration from its larger sibling, the Sealion, the updates include ride quality, in-car comfort, and efficiency in the long run.

1. Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD) for a Smoother Ride

The Premium variant of the BYD Seal now features Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD). These are those that are responsive to the surface of the road and driving dynamics. They filter out harsh bumps and maintain stability at high speeds. With this, the company promises that it will deliver a significantly more controlled driving experience, particularly on the Indian roads.

2. DiSus-C System on Performance Variant

BYD has got this suspension system for the top-of-the-line Performance variant for buyers who are thinking about this trim. This intelligent setup automatically adjusts the suspension stiffness based on the road condition and driving behaviour, making for a comfortable cornering performance.

3. Refined Climate Control and Air Purification

The upgraded interior is furnished to improve comfort with a bigger compressor incorporated into the upgraded AC unit. Cooled with much more power now with a power-operated sunshade as well as a built-in onboard air purification unit, especially ideal for urban settings.

4. Android Auto & Apple CarPlay Wireless

Corresponding to modernisation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have been made a standard on the BYD Seal 2025. This reduces the clutter of wires and helps in seamless smartphone connectivity.

5. Lightweight Lithium Iron Phosphate Auxiliary Battery

The new Seal replaces the conventional lead-acid auxiliary battery with a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) unit. It is six times lighter and has an anticipated service life of 15 years—the same longevity as the Sealion.

With these purposeful upgrades, the Seal 2025 BYD stands a few notches above as a more sophisticated and tech-forward car in the premium EV space.
