10 Best Cars and SUV Sales June 2025: Creta Leads the list

In June 2025, Hyundai Creta with its EV version again became the leader not only in the sale of cars but also SUVs with 15,786 disposals. The powerful positioning of the Creta highlights its long-term popularity in the compact SUV segment, even though it experiences a slight YoY decline of 3.11 %.

Maruti takes a Good Stand on Dzire and Brezza

It was followed by Maruti Suzuki, which has significantly dominated the top 10 list, in that it had six models in the top 10 list. There was a good 15.37%, the year-on-year growth of 15,484 units, in Dzire, and Brezza at 14,507 units recorded a good improvement of 10.14%. These two models were quite helpful in the overall leadership position of Maruti in the market.

Nevertheless, not every Maruti model has been doing great. The Ertiga, Swift, Wagon R and the Grand Vitara were the models that experienced significant YoY falls, up to 29.46 percent.

Tata Punch Stumbles, Thar and Hyryder Rockstar

The Tata Punch was the worst-performing car in terms of YoY decline, as the model tumbled 42.72 per cent over the year ago to 10,446 units out of 18,238 during June 2024.

In the same way, the Nexon skidded 3.85 percent to 11,602 units. The fall is especially in spite of the latest features in the Tata SUV range.

Mahindra Thar/ROXX on the other hand improved its sales with an increase of 77.49 percent recording 9,542 units. The Hyryder of Toyota was not much behind with a whopping growth of 74.55 per cent in 7,462 units due to the rising hybrid penetration and improved feature sets.

In general, Market Downward Trend in June 2025

The general picture in terms of sales was grim, though there were a couple of bright spots. Total top 10 car sales dipped to 1,30,736 units (as opposed to 1,41,299 units) and SUV sales also declined to 1,38,882 units (as opposed to 1,49,501 units) by 7.10 percent on a YoY basis. The month to month figures also reduced as compared to those in May 2025 which indicates a slowdown in the market.

The second half of 2025 may be when the numbers switch sides with the festive season launches to come, such as new-gen Venue and Tata Scarlet.
