The Citroen C5 Aircross is a stylish and comfortable SUV that offers a spacious cabin, smooth ride quality, and a range of practical features, making it a practical and family-friendly choice.</p>
A year after its launch in 2021, the Citroen C5 Aircross received a noteworthy makeover.
The facelifted version of the C5 Aircross, brought to India soon after the global unveil, arrived with subtle changes to its front fascia and rear profile. However, the more noticeable change is in the inside of the SUV, with the C5 Aircross getting a completely reworked cabin layout with few new features on-board.
The facelifted Citroen C5 Aircross continues to be powered by the same diesel-automatic powertrain with which it arrived in the Indian car market.
The SUV now comes in four monotone colours Pearl White, Pearl Nera Black, Eclipse Blue, and Cumulus Grey. Except for Pearl Nera Black, the other three colour options are also available in dual-tone themes, with the roof and rear-view mirrors painted in black.
In addition to these colour options, Citroen now also offers two colour packs for the C5 Aircross Dark Chrome and Energic Blue.
With this facelifted version, Citroen has made the C5 Aircross look more mature and upmarket. The new SUV still has a sense of quirkiness in its overall look, but it now feels more premium with the changes it wears.
The front fascia of the C5 Aircross receives the most significant change, with the SUV getting new split V-shaped daytime running LED strips and all-LED headlamps between them. The gloss black grille now features unique chrome slats extending across its width between the headlamps.
The lower front panel of the C5 Aircross now have sharper-looking lines for the air intakes. The front bumper looks more muscular and aerodynamic, with air scoops integrated into its corners. The air dam in the middle of the lower front bumper features a polished aluminium scuff plate below it. The lower corners of the front bumper have rounded LED fog lamps within them.
There are not many changes to the side profile of the facelifted C5 Aircross, with the only difference being the new dual-tone design for the 18-inch alloy wheels. Apart from that, the C5 Aircross continues to have a muscular and unique look with a wraparound chrome garnish around the side window panels.
The Citroen C5 Aircross also gets thick body cladding with trapezoidal elements on the front door panels, wheel arch mouldings and thick roof rails.
At the back, the rounded-rectangular tail lamps feature revised 3D effect LED inserts. The rear bumper has also seen alterations with new cladding and reflectors on the corners and dual chrome-finished exhaust ports.
The interior layout of the Citroen C5 Aircross is a massive departure from that of the pre-facelift version and now looks more modern and sophisticated than before. The cabin continues to feature an all-black theme and is complete with leather upholstery with gloss black and chrome inserts.
The flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel with rounded rectangular centre boss and spokes has a 12.3-inch full-TFT instrument console behind it. This instrument console features three personalisation modes Personal mode, Dual mode, and Minimum mode, and three ambience options brown, blue, and red.
A new floating-themed 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system housed in a trapezoidal panel sits at the top of the centre console. Along with this new screen, the upper centre console has slim AC vents and controls for audio and telephony systems below them.
The vertically-aligned AC vents on the corners of the dashboard also have gloss black surrounds.
The lower centre console has a broad-looking design, which houses a push start-stop button, electronic parking brake, compact gear selector and switches for hill descent control and grip control selector. Along with the controls of the dual-zone automatic climate control, it also houses a wireless charging pad, a 12V power outlet and two USB-A charging ports.
The cabin of the new Citroen C5 Aircross feels even more upmarket with additional features like a panoramic sunroof, air purifier, and LED reading lamps. It also gets three individual rear seats, all of which can be slid and folded individually or together. Other noteworthy features include rear AC vents, a powered drivers seat, aluminium pedals, and a 6-speaker audio system.
The safety equipment list of the Citroen C5 Aircross might not be as extensive as other similarly-priced SUVs. However, it gets essentials like six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill start assist, hill descent control, traction control, front and rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera.
It also gets a blind spot information system, tyre pressure monitoring system and coffee break alert as standard.
The sole powertrain option in the Citroen C5 Aircross is a 2.0-litre diesel engine. It is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission and claims 177 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The two drive modes on offer Eco and Sport - can alter the power delivery of the C5 Aircross.
Citroen is not claiming top speed and acceleration figures for the C5 Aircross. However, considering the power and torque figures are among the segment-best, the C5 Aircross should be a quick SUV.
Citroen has a worldwide image of making some of the most comfortable cars in the history of automobiles. The C5 Aircross follows the tradition by offering the best-in-class ride quality.
At the front, this SUV gets Macpherson Strut Suspension with Double Progressive Hydraulic Cushions.
On the other hand, at the rear, it gets a Twist Beam Axle with Single Progressive Hydraulic Cushions.
The Grip Control system with four terrain modes Standard, Snow, Sand, and All-Terrain - enhances the ride quality further.
Despite its large dimensions, the Citroen C5 Aircross is a fairly-large SUV which is easy to drive and park. The factory-equipped features like front and rear parking sensors and a reverse camera can make ease off things while driving. However, driving and parking the C5 Aircross can be made even easier by using Park+.

Citroen C5 Aircross: Base Feel Trim Discontinued
Citroen has quietly pulled the plug on the entry-level Feel trim of its premium SUV, the C5 Aircross. Priced earlier at ₹36.91 lakh, the Feel trim has now been discontinued, leaving buyers with only the fully loaded Shine trim, which costs ₹39.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This change streamlines the C5 Aircross lineup, focusing solely on the feature-rich Shine variant that offers a complete premium SUV experience. ## Key Features Missing in the Feel Trim The discontinued Feel trim was a more affordable alternative to the Shine variant but came with several compromises. Here’s what the base trim lacked compared to the top-spec Shine: - Panoramic Sunroof: A must-have for those who value a luxurious cabin ambiance. - Powered Tailgate: Adds convenience for loading and unloading cargo. - Wireless Phone Charger: Missing in the Feel trim but available in the Shine for added practicality. - Traction Control & Hill-Descent Control: Essential features for off-road enthusiasts, only offered in the Shine trim. - Smaller Infotainment Screen: The base variant had a less impressive display compared to the Shine trim. - Different Upholstery and Trim Materials: The Shine variant offers a more refined and premium cabin finish. ## Shine Trim: Packed with Premium Features The Shine trim not only includes all the features missing in the Feel trim but also comes with a host of additional offerings: - Dual-tone Paint Options: Available at no extra cost, allowing buyers to personalize their SUV. - Advanced Infotainment System: A larger and more feature-packed touchscreen display enhances the driving experience. ## Engine and Performance Under the hood, the C5 Aircross retains its tried-and-tested 2.0-litre diesel engine: - Power Output: 177hp and 400Nm of torque. - Transmission: Paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. - Fuel Efficiency: Citroen claims a mileage of 17.5kpl, making it competitive in its segment. This powertrain delivers a smooth and responsive performance, ideal for both city commutes and highway cruising. ## Year-End Offers: Save Up to ₹1.75 Lakh As part of its year-end sales drive, Citroen is offering benefits of up to ₹1.75 lakh on the C5 Aircross. These offers are limited to MY2023 units and are valid only until December 31. This is a golden opportunity for buyers to grab this premium SUV at a discounted price before the new year rolls in. ## Future Prospects: Next-Gen C5 Aircross Concept In October, [Citroen](https://parkplus.io/new-cars/citroen-car) previewed an all-new concept for the next-generation C5 Aircross. While this fresh design and upgraded features are generating global excitement, Citroen has no immediate plans to introduce the next-gen model in India. For now, the Shine trim of the current C5 Aircross remains the flagship offering for Indian buyers. The discontinuation of the base Feel trim simplifies the [Citroen C5 Aircross](https://parkplus.io/new-cars/citroen-car/c5-aircross) lineup, leaving the Shine trim as the sole option for buyers. Although it comes at a higher price point, the Shine trim ensures a more complete and [luxurious SUV](https://parkplus.io/new-cars/suv-body-type) experience with features like a panoramic sunroof, advanced safety systems, and premium cabin materials.
