Developed by Bharti Group, Worldmark Aerocity is a premium and prestigious corporate-cum-retail space in New Delhi. Aerocity houses several distinguished MNCs, recreational centres, restaurants, and more in three buildings with world-class amenities. Consequently, Worldmark Aerocity faces a high footfall from visitors and office goers. Currently, Worldmark Aerocity is jointly owned by Bharti Group and Brookfield. The three buildings at Aerocity have over 2500 parking slots, which makes parking management a common problem. As leaders in the parking management space, Park+ developed FASTag-enabled solutions to address the challenges faced by Aerocity's visitors.
The main parking problems that arose in Aerocity were as follows:
Common entry and exit lanes for employees and visitors
Cash collection (especially from visitors' vehicles) and reconciliation
Management of available parking spots for visitors and regular users
Need to monitor incoming and outgoing vehicles for security issues
FASTag-enabled RFID solutions: Installing RFID readers at all entry and exit gates for four-wheelers helped differentiate between employee and visitor vehicles. This also ensured that employees could avail of free and quick entry without experiencing a wait time. The RFID readers directly scanned the FASTag stickers on the cars to charge any visitors. This helped reduce wait time and queues for visitors as they didn't need to pay for parking manually.
ANPR/TVM-based solutions: Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) enabled at entry, and exit gates ensured security, while the integration of the pre-installed TVM with our system for easier management of visitors' vehicles (both two and 4 wheelers).
All these systems work simultaneously in real-time to enable the seamless passage of vehicles.
Smoother entry & exit process: The congestion at entry and exit gates were significantly reduced.
Cashless Transactions: Instances of manual cash collection went down by 90%, as the amounts were usually collected via FASTag or UPI.
Reduced Manpower Requirements: The shortage of manpower was no longer an issue since the automation of parking management reduced the dependency on manual processes.
Automated Process Flow: FASTag installation did away with the hassle of manually allocating and distributing identification tags.
With the installation of FASTag-enabled RFID readers, the queue at the entry and exit gates went down. This guaranteed seamless passage of employees' vehicles and improved mobility for the thousands occupying the Aerocity complex had a significant impact—the improvements left the users with a delightful parking experience. They reduced the time spent driving in and driving out.
