Those familiar with New Delhi’s Aerocity, just minutes away from the Indira Gandhi International Airport, will vouch for its world-class hotels, corporate parks, recreational centres, and cafes. However, a constant problem faced by visitors is the challenge of finding a parking slot, within Aerocity.
Worldmark Aerocity, has three buildings with more than 2,500 parking slots and heavy footfall from both visitors and office goers. It also suffers from a lack of proper demarcation of parking slots for employees and visitors for seamless entry and exit into the buildings. Additionally, there were common entry and exit lanes for employees and visitors creating confusion and unnecessary delays. Furthermore, there was the challenge of cash collection, especially from visitors' vehicles and their reconciliation at the end of the day.
We at Park, decided to step in and provide a smart digital first solution. We developed a FASTag-enabled solution to address the challenges faced by Aerocity's visitors. By installing RFID readers at all entry and exit gates for four-wheelers, we automated the demarcation between employee and visitor vehicles. In turn, employees were able to enter/exit the premises without any hassles. Additionally, the RFID readers, installed at the gates directly scanned the FASTag stickers on the cars to charge the visitors. Furthermore, wait times dropped drastically for vehicle owners and queues became non-existent.
Moreover, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) at the entry and exit gates ensured real-time security. The integration of the pre-installed ticket vending machines (TVM) with the Park+ system also ensured easier management of visitors' vehicles both for two and four-wheelers. The automation of the parking management process also meant reduced dependency on manpower, with minimal human intervention required throughout the parking flow/journey. FASTag deductions also ensured that cash transactions went down by 90%.
All these systems worked simultaneously in real-time seamlessly, to achieve customer delight.
