This is for a distance of about 6 km with just a push of the "EV mode" button near the gear shifter. The process to start the petrol engine for a Pollution Under Control (PUC) check in the Toyota Hyryder Hybrid involves a specific sequence of steps, as outlined below:

Ensure the transmission is in Park mode (P). Turn on the car's ignition without pressing the brake pedal.

• Fully depress the accelerator pedal twice.

• Press the brake and shift the gear selector to N or neutral.

• Once again, fully depress the accelerator pedal twice.

• Press the brake and shift back to P or Park.

• Fully press the accelerator pedal twice.

• Step on the brake and initiate the engine start using the push button.

• The petrol engine will start, and an "ESP Maintenance Mode" message will be displayed on the instrument panel.

• Upon completion of the PUC check, turn off the car and wait for 30 seconds before restarting it, transitioning back to hybrid/EV mode.
