Volkswagen Unveils Sleek and Powerful Tiguan L Pro at Beijing Motor Show, to be expected in India by 2025

Volkswagen has finally re-entered the three-row automotive market. It is expected to be there by 2025 with the Tiguan L, a long-wheelbase variant of the recently revised Euro-spec Tiguan currently marketed only in China. The SUV is almost 200 mm longer than the standard Tiguan and retains a five-seat layout.

Structural Design:

The Volkswagen Tiguan L Pro SUV measures 4,735 mm in length, 1,859 mm in width, and 1,682 mm in height, debuting at the 2024 Beijing Motor Show. Its dimensions are 197 mm longer, 17 mm wider, 43 mm taller, and its wheelbase is 111 mm longer than the 5-seat Tiguan. The Tiguan L Pro, which has the MQB AO architecture, has a sculpted tailgate, wraparound tail lights with an integrated LED light bar, an aggressive front bumper, and a beautiful blacked-out rear bumper.

Interior:

Inside, VW's most recent MIB4 digital interface is used in the Tiguan L Pro's svelte dashboard, which has three screens: a digital instrument cluster, a passenger-side display, and the main infotainment system. A 360-degree camera, dual-zone temperature control, wireless charging, 10-point massaging seats with heating and ventilation, a head-up display, and an advanced driver assistance system are among the features found inside (ADAS).

Powertrain:

There are several powertrain options available for the Tiguan L Pro, such as diesel, petrol, and plug-in hybrid engines. It has a 2-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with a 7-speed DCT transmission that can produce 186 horsepower and 320 Nm or 220 horsepower and 350 Nm in the Chinese market. All-wheel drive is an optional feature on both versions.

India Launch:

This vehicle is most likely to compete with vehicles like the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and the soon-to-be-released Ford Endeavour (Everest), the seven-seater Tiguan L Pro scheduled to arrive in India as a CKD unit.
