VinFast VF6 and VF7 crash test findings in detail within India's Bharat NCAP framework.
What the safety scores show regarding vehicle performance and the safety of adult and child occupants.
VinFast's electric SUVs, the VF6 and VF7, recently passed a major safety validation test by receiving the highest five-star ratings from India's official vehicle crash test authority, the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP). This coveted accreditation, which is applicable to all models available in the Indian market, shows how well both models protect occupants in a variety of simulated crash scenarios.
Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) are the two criteria used by the Bharat NCAP framework to assess automobiles. According to the most recent findings, the VF6 scored 44.41 out of 49 for kid safety and 27.13 out of 32 for adult safety.
Even slightly higher scores of 28.54/32(AOP) and 45.25/49 (COP) were attained by its larger sibling, the VF7. Both SUVs were able to obtain the complete five-star certification thanks to these numbers.
In-depth evaluations showed that both cars performed exceptionally well in frontal and side impact testing, earning top marks for protecting drivers' and passengers' heads, necks, and upper legs. Further demonstrating structural resilience, pole-side impact assessments revealed head damage values much below the crucial levels established by Bharat NCAP.
Even though the overall scores are outstanding, the findings of each subtest reveal subtle differences. Even while the overall protection was acceptable to keep the five-star rating, certain aspects, such the driver's chest protection, were noted as inadequate or adequate rather than "good" in the VF6 and VF7 frontal offset deformable barrier tests. The side impact findings were far better, with many categories receiving full marks.
Seven airbags, electronic stability control, and cutting-edge driver assistance technologies are just a few of the contemporary active and passive safety features that are installed in both SUVs. These features assist avoid accidents in the first place, which enhances the robust crash performance.
As VinFast strives to make a name for itself in India's quickly expanding electric vehicle market, these findings are a powerful endorsement. In addition to giving safety-conscious consumers more confidence, the five-star Bharat NCAP ratings put the VF6 and VF7 on par with competitors in their respective market groups.
