Toyota Kirloskar Motor's Rajesh Toyota Dealership Wins CII GreenCo Gold Rating Award for Sustainability Efforts

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is thrilled to announce that its dealership, Rajesh Toyota in Jaipur, Rajasthan, has been awarded the prestigious GreenCo Gold Rating by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Green Business Centre (GBC). This recognition, celebrated at a recent ceremony in Chennai, marks Rajesh Toyota as the first automotive dealership in India to achieve this honour.

The CII GreenCo Rating is a globally recognized framework that evaluates companies on their environmental performance through a comprehensive life cycle approach. Rajesh Toyota excelled in several key areas, including energy efficiency, waste management, and water conservation, demonstrating outstanding leadership in sustainable practices.

This milestone aligns with Toyota's broader environmental vision, outlined in the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050 (TEC 2050). TKM's ongoing Environment Month (June 2024), themed "Unite for Responsible Resource Consumption towards Becoming Global No.1," aims to raise awareness and drive action towards environmental stewardship, focusing on water management and ecosystem revival through afforestation.

TKM has developed an Environmental Assessment System (EAS) to guide its Environmental Management System (EMS) across its value chain, including dealers, suppliers, and logistic partners. Rajesh Toyota exemplified environmental excellence through this structured approach, achieving significant milestones by establishing a robust environmental management organization at the dealership. Key achievements include:

Rajesh Toyota has reduced scope 1 and 2 emissions by 31.27% from the 2019 base, with renewable energy usage at 90.5% as of FY23-24. The dealership has also reduced waste generation per vehicle by 20.3% from the 2019 base, thanks to lean management, inventory optimization, and digital promotions. The installation of an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) with a capacity of 10 KLD has resulted in zero liquid discharge, and the dealership has developed a green cover of 34.21% within its premises.

Expressing his thoughts, Mr B. Padmanabha, Executive Vice President and Director of Manufacturing at TKM, said, "At TKM, we embrace our corporate responsibility to drive positive change and set new benchmarks in environmental sustainability. We are committed to bringing all our stakeholders across value chain on this journey. TKM's 2050 Roadmap for achieving Carbon Neutrality includes energy-efficient guidelines, ECO kaizen training for dealers, and promotion of solarization at dealerships.
