Toyota India Reports High Sales for September 2025

For September 2025, TKM reported total sales of 31,091 units in India, a 16% increase from 26,847 units in September 2024.

Out of it, 4,002 units were exported and 27,089 units were sold domestically. The company sold 1,84,959 units from April to September, up 14% from 1,62,623 units in the same period last year.

Highlights of Model-Wise Performance

Top Performers

  • With 7,608 units sold in September—a 41.28% YoY increase—the Urban Cruiser Hyryder topped the pack.

  • With 9,783 units (according to one data source) in September, the Innova Hycross trailed closely behind, demonstrating robust demand in the MPV market.

  • The high-end hatchback Glanza sold 3,299 units, indicating a slight YoY increase of 1.63%.

Shortcomings

  • In September, the MPV Innova Crysta suffered a drop to 3,347 units, down roughly 2.87% year over year and 3.74% month over month (MoM).

  • Certain specialized models, like the Vellfire and Rumion, continue to report poor volumes, indicating a lack of demand in their specific markets.

What Promotes the Growth?

GST Reforms & Festive Boost

The start of the Indian holiday season and the recent rationalization of the GST were the two main drivers of the positive performance. Customers have benefited fully from TKM's GST rate reduction, which has reduced the cost of all models.

Strong volumes were a result of the price decrease and high demand for models in the SUV, crossover, and MPV classes, such as the Hyryder and Hycross.

Concurrently, less differentiated categories or older models had slower growth or contraction.

Prospects & Repercussions

TKM is in a strong position to make more progress in the upcoming months because the holiday season is still ongoing. The business emphasized that ensuring prompt deliveries is its "foremost priority" so that clients can benefit from the seasonal demand.

However, maintaining growth will necessitate controlling the supply chain, increasing production capacity, and maintaining new models, particularly given the fierce rivalry from competitors.
