Toyota India saw an enormous increase in sales in April 2024, selling a total of 20,494 vehicles in the nation. When compared to the same period in 2023, this represented a noteworthy gain of 32%. 18,700 units were sold domestically, and 1,794 units were exported. Notably, Toyota's total sales for the first four months of the year increased by 48% from 65,871 units to 97,503 units, compared to the same period last year. In the next months, Toyota's sales should increase even more as a result of the recent release of the Urban Cruiser Taisor.
Despite the encouraging increase in April 2024, Toyota's sales fell from 27,180 units in March 2024 by 32.6%. As stated in Toyota's announcement, this decrease may have been caused by a maintenance shutdown that took place from April 6 to April 12 to maintain machinery and equipment.
Toyota unveiled the Urban Cruiser Taisor, a brand-new subcompact crossover, in India in April 2024. Based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, this vehicle is a member of the Toyota-Suzuki alliance and is priced between Rs 7.73 lakh and Rs 13.03 lakh (ex-showroom). The Urban Cruiser Taisor has the same engine and gearbox choices as the Fronx, preserving most of its original design.
The brand's performance was praised by Sabari Manohar, Vice President of Sales-Service-Used Car Business at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, who noted a 32% increase in April 2024 over the same month the year before. He underlined Toyota's dedication to quality and customer-centricity, crediting the company's steady performance to a solid base for future growth.
