The recall of Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, and Kylaq in India
As an effort in maintaining passenger safety, Skoda Auto India has ordered the voluntary recall of 860 of its units in three of its most popular models: Kushaq, Slavia, and Kylaq. The recall, released on July 18, 2025, is limited to the cars that have been produced between December 1, 2021 and May 31, 2025.
In reference to Skoda, the recall became effective after an internal quality inspection raised the red signal of the issue, which might have arisen in the front and rear seat belt assembly. It was found that the metals in the base of the rear seat belts, particularly the left and right sides, can experience some cracks with time, and when a collision occurs, the integrity of the restraint system is lost.
Also, some of the units might have been equipped with the wrong parts in the front and back seatbelts.
The affected models include:
Skoda Kushaq: The brand’s compact SUV, known for its safety credentials and urban performance.
Skoda Slavia: A midsize sedan that shares its platform with the Kushaq.
Skoda Kylaq: A newer addition to Skoda’s SUV lineup, positioned above the Kushaq.
Although companies have not released details as per model, it is recommended that customers with any of the three models in question during the specified time and of production give a keen eye.
The dealerships of Skoda all over the country will take initiative in getting in touch with the owners of the vehicles that are affected. After verification, there will be replacement of faulty components of the seatbelt at no cost. The automaker also requests the customers to visit the nearby authorized dealer or refer to the official site to learn more.
A recall of Skoda on these models is nothing new as the company has been keen to ensure safety and assurance implications of its vehicles.
Skoda recall is transparent and responsible as the primary issue is the safety of the passengers. Owners of a Kushaq, Slavia and Kylaq, produced between December 2021 and May 2025, should get to the nearest dealership to book an appointment.
