Tata Punch Retains Top Spot as Best-Selling Car in India for Second Consecutive Month

For the second month in a row, the Tata Punch has maintained its position as the best-selling car in India. With over 19,000 units dispatched in April 2024, the Punch has witnessed a remarkable year-on-year sales growth of 75 per cent. Notably, this includes sales figures for both the Tata Punch ICE (internal combustion engine) and Tata Punch EV variants.

Maruti Wagon R

Claiming the second position in April 2024, the Maruti Wagon R recorded over 17,800 units dispatched, surpassing the Hyundai Creta. Despite facing a 15 per cent decline in yearly sales, the Wagon R saw a notable increase in monthly sales, solidifying its status as a popular choice among Indian consumers.

Maruti Brezza

Ascending to the third spot in the sales table, the Maruti Brezza showcased an impressive performance with over 17,000 units sold in April 2024. Boasting a 17 per cent month-on-month growth and a substantial 45 per cent year-on-year growth, the Brezza continues to attract buyers with its compelling features and competitive pricing.

Maruti Dzire

Maintaining its consistent demand, the Maruti Dzire recorded over 15,800 units dispatched in April 2024. With a remarkable 56 per cent year-on-year sales growth, the subcompact sedan continues to resonate well with Indian consumers seeking reliability and comfort in their vehicles.

Hyundai Creta

Despite experiencing a decline in monthly sales, the Hyundai Creta secured the fifth position in the sales chart with nearly 15,500 units sold in April 2024. With a 9 per cent year-on-year sales growth, the Creta remains a popular choice in the competitive SUV segment.

Mahindra Scorpio

Crossing the 14,800-unit sales mark, the Mahindra Scorpio showcased a notable year-on-year sales growth of 54 per cent. Despite a slight decline in monthly sales, the Scorpio continues to attract buyers with its robust performance and rugged appeal.

Maruti Fronx

With over 14,000 units retailed, the Maruti Fronx witnessed a commendable 14 per cent month-on-month growth and a remarkable 63 per cent year-on-year growth. As one of the top-selling models for Maruti, the Fronx continues to enjoy strong demand from Indian consumers.

Maruti Baleno

As the only premium hatchback in the top 15 list, the Maruti Baleno crossed the 14,000-unit sales mark in April 2024. However, it experienced a decline in both month-on-month and year-on-year sales, reflecting the evolving preferences of Indian car buyers.

Maruti Ertiga and Eeco

The Maruti Ertiga and Eeco emerged as the top-selling MPVs in April 2024, with sales figures crossing the 13,500-unit and 12,000-unit marks, respectively. Both models continue to cater to the needs of Indian families with their spacious interiors and practical features.

Tata Nexon

Despite crossing the 11,000-unit sales mark, the Tata Nexon faced challenges in April 2024, witnessing a decline in both monthly and yearly sales. As the demand for subcompact SUVs remains strong, Tata aims to regain momentum with its Nexon lineup.

Mahindra Bolero

The Mahindra Bolero lineup, including the Bolero Neo and Bolero Neo Plus, collectively amassed sales figures exceeding 9,500 units in April 2024. While yearly sales remained consistent, monthly sales experienced a slight decline.

Hyundai Venue

With over 9,000 units sold, the Hyundai Venue showcased steady performance in April 2024. As one of the top choices in the subcompact SUV segment, the Venue continues to attract buyers with its stylish design and feature-packed offerings.

Maruti Alto K10

Crossing the 9,000-unit sales mark, the Maruti Alto K10 demonstrated consistent demand in April 2024. However, it experienced a decline in yearly sales, reflecting shifting consumer preferences in the entry-level hatchback segment.

Kia Sonet

Rounding off the top 15 list, the Kia Sonet attracted 7,901 buyers in April 2024. Despite facing challenges in both monthly and yearly sales, the Sonet remains a formidable contender in the highly competitive SUV segment.
