Tata Nexon EV to Launch with Level 2 ADAS Features in Top Variants

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch a new Nexon EV lineup with a facelift, led by the newly launched Empowered+ A 45. Placed above the current Empowered 45 and Empowered Plus 45 variants, this top-of-the-line model will feature Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)—something the Nexon EV does not have at present.

With the prices of the existing trims being between ₹15.99 lakh and ₹17.19 lakh (ex-showroom), the inclusion of ADAS is likely to yield a modest hike while remaining competitive with its competitors.

Rich Feature List Becomes Even More Powerful

Even before the ADAS upgrade, Empowered trims already provided a premium set: JBL audio system with subwoofer, 360-degree surround camera with blind spot monitoring, voice-activated panoramic sunroof, ventilated leatherette seats, V2V and V2L charging, and Arcade.

EV app suite, and a 31.24 cm cinematic touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The inclusion of semi-autonomous features will enhance the SUV's positioning in the market even more.

ADAS Level 2 Capabilities

The Nexon EV’s new ADAS suite is designed to make driving safer and less fatiguing, especially on highways. Key features will include:

  • Adaptive cruise control

  • Lane keep assist and lane departure warning

  • Forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking

  • Traffic sign recognition

  • High beam assist

These technologies bring the Nexon EV closer in capability to much costlier SUVs, setting a benchmark in the segment.

Design and Powertrain Continuity

Special models like the Dark Edition and Red Dark Edition will still be available, with blacked-out trim, red elements, and a premium finish—now with ADAS included.

Mechanically, the SUV is the same, employing the 45 kWh battery pack with a real-world range of 350–375 km and fast charging from 20–80% in 20 minutes. It churns out 143 PS and 215 Nm, taking 0–100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. Tata also comes with a lifetime warranty on the high-voltage battery, a differentiation point in its segment.
