Tata Harrier EV Bookings: July 2 | All-Wheel-Drive Electric SUV starts at Rs 21.49 Lakh

Tata Motors is ready to start taking bookings of the Harrier EV tomorrow i.e., July 2, 2025, one of the bravest moves in the electric mobility portfolio of the company.

The Harrier EV was recently unveiled at an introductory price of 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom); it is already being hailed as the first of its kind in terms of an all-wheel-drive (AWD) electric sports utility vehicle in its class.

Variants, Price and Configurations

This Harrier EV has two driving systems, the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD), which Tata Motors also calls QWD. The electric SUV will be offered with several trims, such as:

  • Adventure

  • Adventure S

  • Fearless

  • Empowered

  • Stealth

The RWD models will have a starting price of 21.49 lakhs, making them competitive with the other existing luxury electric SUVs in the Indian market. But the AWD models, which have an upgraded set of capabilities and features, can only be purchased in the highest trims, beginning with 28.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Feats and range

AWD variant (QWD) of Harrier EV is propelled by a 75kWh battery pack and it sends power to two electric motors that generate 156bhp at the front and a 235 bhp motor at the rear, totalling to 504 Nm of powerful torque. Tata said this setup also enables the Harrier EV to have a maximum of 622 km driving range on one charge, making it one of the longest-range EVs available on the Indian market.

The RWD variants (badged as C75) are marginally less impressive in their range, with figures ranging between 460km and 490 km but again, depending on the particular model, and conditions in which it is driven. These models serve consumers interested in the efficiency of their range at a lower price.

Technology and features

Other than its electric merits, the Harrier EV is brimming with fresh technology and design features. The QWD system developed by Tata is the revolution that can make EVs mainstream since they now offer superior traction, more control and define performance off-road. This means that most of the adventure-oriented drivers and owners of premium SUVs are now ready to buy an EV, Tata has changed the game.

The electric Harrier has the same rugged look as the ICE model with certain electric-specific design details like a sealed grille, aero wheels and blue highlights. The interior has a gigantic touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument panel, panoramic sunroof and higher trim levels also come with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

A Major Leap in Tata’s EV Strategy

The Harrier EV is an important step in the electric vehicle strategy of Tata Motors. With the success of the cars such as the Nexon EV and Tiago EV, the Harrier EV will offer additional power, an increase in range and some new frontier in terms of drivetrain technology.

The booking will start on July 2, and people are anticipating to see a great demand, with Tata, specifically its QWD variants, that will introduce a genuine AWD performance on its EVs under 30 Lakhs, something no one had heard of in this Indian EV market.

Conclusion

The Tata Harrier EV in question provides an interesting blend of power, range, technology, and utility, no matter what kind of owner you are: either a commuter or an off-roader. With India rapidly making the transition to sustainable mobility, the new flagship EV of Tata has been positioned as the game-changer in the premium electric SUV market in India.
