Tata Curvv EV Deliveries Commence

After its launch in early August, with prices ranging from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom pan-India), the Tata Curvv EV is finally on the roads as deliveries begin today. The Indian automaker started accepting orders for this all-electric SUV-coupe on August 12. If you've booked one, your wait is over.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Tata Curvv EV:

Design

The Tata Curvv EV stands out with its unique SUV-coupe body style. The front design features a closed-off grille accompanied by a full-width LED DRL, aligning with Tata's latest design philosophy. The sleek, sloping roofline, aerodynamic 18-inch alloy wheels, and flush-fitting door handles contribute to its modern look. The rear is accentuated by connected LED tail lamps, and the sporty appeal is further amplified by a roof-mounted dual spoiler.

Interior

Inside the Curvv EV, the design is reminiscent of the Tata Nexon EV but with unique touches depending on the variant. It boasts a 4-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated Tata logo borrowed from the Harrier-Safari duo, leatherette seat upholstery, and contrasting silver accents throughout the cabin. The interior also features touch-based climate controls and ambient lighting, adding to its premium feel.

Features

The Curvv EV comes packed with advanced features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and connected car technology. It also offers a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, and a gesture-enabled powered tailgate.

On the safety front, the Curvv EV includes six airbags (standard), front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). The ADAS suite offers features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and lane change assist.

Powertrain Options

The Tata Curvv EV is available with two battery options. The first is a 45 kWh battery paired with a 150 PS/215 Nm electric motor, delivering a claimed range of 502 km. The second option is a 55 kWh battery with a 167 PS/215 Nm motor, offering a claimed range of 585 km. Both variants support V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging capabilities.

Charging times vary depending on the method: a 70 kW DC fast charger can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes. Meanwhile, a 7.2 kW AC charger takes about 6.5 hours to fully charge the 45 kWh battery and nearly 8 hours for the 55 kWh battery from 10% to 100%.

Rivals

The Tata Curvv EV competes directly with the MG ZS EV and will soon face off against upcoming models like the Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX.

As Tata expands its electric vehicle lineup, the Curvv EV represents a significant step forward, offering a blend of style, performance, and advanced technology in the growing EV market.
