Skoda Unveils the Most Advanced and Efficient Superb Yet
Skoda has introduced the all-new Superb, its flagship internal combustion engine (ICE) model, which features a sophisticated new design and enhanced aerodynamics. This generation of the Superb offers more space, comfort, and a cleaner interior design that incorporates sustainable materials. The cabin is equipped with intuitive Skoda Smart Dials and an advanced infotainment system, featuring an AI-based chatbot, ChatGPT.
The new Superb sets a higher standard for luxury sedans with its sleek, sophisticated design and increased size. It showcases a bold octagonal grille flanked by Skoda's new Crystalline LED Matrix beam headlights. These intelligent lights deliver exceptional illumination, marking a technological advancement for the model. The car achieves an impressive drag coefficient of 0.23 for the Hatch and 0.25 for the Estate, positioning it among the most aerodynamic cars in its class.
The new Superb comes in six metallic and two solid colors, including new shades like Pure White, Pebble Silver, Midnight Black, Cobalt Blue, Carmine Red, and Ice Tea Yellow. Popular colors like Energy Blue and Graphite Grey metallic remain available. The selection of alloy wheels ranges from standard 17-inch Mintaka silver wheels to optional 19-inch variants.
Inside, the Superb features a spacious cabin with a minimalist design, dominated by a 13-inch infotainment display on the center console. An optional head-up display projects vital information directly onto the windshield. The Skoda Smart Dials and the intelligent voice assistant, Laura, soon to be joined by ChatGPT, provide easy control over vehicle functions and offer information beyond the car itself. The innovative Ergo seats feature 10 pneumatically controlled massage cushions, enhancing comfort.
The Superb offers six powertrain options, including a new plug-in hybrid system exclusive to the Superb Estate IV, which will later be available for the Hatch. This hybrid pairs a 1.5 TSI engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 204 PS (150 kW) and an electric range of up to 75 miles (120 kilometers) on the WLTP cycle. The 1.5 TSI engine is also available with mild-hybrid technology for the first time in the Superb lineup. Other powertrain options include two petrol engines and two diesel units, with the top variants (265 PS/195 kW and 193 PS/142 kW) featuring standard all-wheel drive. The all-new Superb also introduces Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC Plus) for the first time.
The new Superb offers more luggage space than ever before. The Hatch variant boasts a 20-liter increase, reaching a total of 645 liters, while the Estate variant elevates storage capacity to a remarkable 690 liters.
The all-new Skoda Superb combines cutting-edge technology, superior comfort, and impressive efficiency, making it a standout choice in the luxury sedan market. With its advanced features and sustainable design, it is set to redefine the standards for premium vehicles.
