Skoda Superb Returning in Mid-2024, Octavia Next in Line

Skoda enthusiasts in India have a reason to rejoice as the iconic Skoda Superb and Octavia models are set to make a comeback after a temporary absence. These beloved models have a rich history in the country, and their return will be eagerly awaited by fans. As of now, Skoda showrooms have been missing these familiar models, but the brand is gearing up to reintroduce them soon.

The comeback strategy for Skoda involves initially importing both the Superb and the new Octavia. The plan includes two key focus areas for Skoda in India - locally manufactured cars like the Kushaq and Slavia from the Pune facility, and parts and components assembled models like the Octavia and Superb from the Aurangabad plant. The reintroduction will kick off with the previous-generation Superb, likely in the luxurious Laurent and Klement trim, scheduled to make its way back to showrooms soon. Following this, the all-new fourth-generation Superb is expected to follow approximately a year later, given global availability and compliance considerations.

The imported Superb is anticipated to feature a BS6 Phase 2-compliant 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, delivering 190hp and 320Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG twin-clutch gearbox. Skoda aims to satisfy its loyal customer base of around 25,000 Superb owners in India who have been eagerly awaiting the model's return. However, the imported Superb is likely to come at a higher price point, starting at around Rs 43 lakh.

In addition to the Superb, the Skoda Octavia is also in the pipeline for a comeback. With a legacy dating back to 2001 when Skoda first entered the Indian market, the Octavia has left a lasting impression with its performance and robust engineering. Skoda is dedicated to recognizing and serving its audience of over 70,000 Octavia customers with a long-term plan that extends to 2034, including facelifts and updates. Although no specific timeline has been confirmed for Octavia's return, Skoda is actively working on the comeback strategy, including considering interim imports as part of the testing and preparation processes.

The impending return of these beloved Skoda models signals an exciting chapter for fans and the automotive industry in India, promising a blend of heritage, innovation, and driving excellence that enthusiasts have come to associate with the Skoda brand.
