Skoda has raised ₹ 10,000 cost price on some colors of Kushaq and Slavia. This increase is for the mono-tone and dual-tone paint options across various variants. According to Skoda India, they have not established an official reason behind the increase in price for these colors; however, the higher costs of production for a premium paint finish, especially matte and dual-tone ones, which incur additional processes, are the likely causes.
The Lava Blue and Carbon Steel Matte shades have been bestsellers, so one more possible reason for this price increase could be the increased demand as well as potentially costlier raw materials used in the making of these paints.
Now, those who are going to purchase a Skoda Kushaq or Slavia will have this price increase affect them, as opting for a premium paint finish will now cost extra. It still prices them competitively in their respective segments, according to Skoda's pricing strategy.
If someone had their eyes set on one of these particular colors, contacting the dealers to find out whether or not they had any older stock priced at their pre-hike price might be a good choice.
