Nissan to introduce CNG option in Magnite

The Nissan Magnite, the Renault Kiger's twin, is anticipated to be released shortly with a comparable powertrain choice after the latter was given a CNG option in addition to its naturally aspirated gasoline-manual arrangement.

Similar to the Kiger, an authorized dealer is probably going to sell the Magnite's CNG arrangement as a retrofitted part. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that the sub-4m SUV's safety suite and comfort and convenience amenities would not alter.

We anticipate that the Magnite will provide a comparable choice with the same configuration, as the Kiger's CNG is only available with a normally aspirated gasoline engine and manual transmission.

As is common with other CNG vehicles, the power and torque numbers are also anticipated to be marginally lower than those of the gasoline-powered models.

An overview of Nissan Magnite

  • The Nissan Magnite has a gloss-black grille with two C-shaped chrome bars on either side, and it has all-LED lighting. Front and rear skid plates are also included. Silver roof rails and 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are also included.

  • Its interior has a three-spoke steering wheel and leatherette upholstery in shades of orange and black.

  • Its features include a 7-inch digital driver display, ambient lighting, and an 8-inch touchscreen (other models have a bigger 9-inch device). Additionally, it has a wireless phone charger, a cooled glovebox, and auto air conditioning with rear vents. However, unlike the majority of its competitors, it lacks a sunroof.

  • A 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM), six airbags (as standard), and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) are all part of the safety package.

Price and Rivals of Nissan Magnite

The ex-showroom, pan-India price range for the Nissan Magnite is Rs 6.14 lakh to Rs 11.76 lakh. It competes with the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq, Renault Kiger, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Kia Syros. It also competes with sub-4m crossovers such as the Maruti Fronx and Toyota Taisor.

Conclusion

The Nissan Magnite is set to get a CNG option, likely as a dealer-fitted retrofit with the naturally aspirated petrol-manual setup. While performance may slightly dip, it will retain its features and safety suite. With its competitive pricing, the CNG variant could be an economical choice in the subcompact SUV segment.
