Launched in October 2024, the New Magnite has not only further consolidated Nissan's local lineup but has also been a key player in its international strategy.

As part of the 'One Car, One World' vision, the Magnite is now shipped to more than 65 countries, with left-hand-drive (LHD) markets like Saudi Arabia being among them. Highest Sales Recorded in 7 Years

Nissan's FY25 consolidated sales increased by 35% year-on-year. Even with rising competition and the trend toward alternative fuel vehicles in the Indian market, the Magnite supported robust domestic momentum. The car achieved a cumulative 1.5 lakh unit sales milestone in August 2024, with the new model reaching 10,000+ bookings within three months of its launch.

Exports increased from 42,978 units in FY23 to 71,000 units in FY25 – a record 65% growth. The RHD and LHD variants of the New Magnite are being exported to various markets around the world, aligning with Nissan's strategy to serve a larger global customer base.

Nissan also introduced a price increase of up to 3% on the New Magnite on all trims from April 1, 2025, to neutralize escalating input and operational expenses.

Strategic Restructuring for future growth

As a part of its global turnaround plan, Nissan announced restructuring its operations in India. The company is selling its share in the Chennai JV plant to Alliance partners while reiterating its commitment to Indian customers, employees, and dealer partners. Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President of AMIEO Region Business Transformation & President of Nissan India Operations, stated, "India continues to be a robust growth pillar for Nissan fueled by the sustained success of the Nissan Magnite. The export of the new Nissan Magnite grew to more than 65 global geographies, including LHD markets during the year. Nissan continues to be committed to the Indian market, customers, dealer partners, employees & stakeholders.". Nissan & its partner dealers will go on providing Sales & Service to existing & new future model customers.

New Models and Expansion of Network

Apart from the Magnite, Nissan has also announced the launch of two new models – an all-new 7-seater B-MPV and a 5-seater C-SUV – in the future to further consolidate its product offerings in India. The new vehicles will be platform-sharing with Renault Triber and Renault Duster, respectively.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, commented, "This year has not been an easy one for the auto sector. Despite that, the New Magnite has demonstrated and has established itself as a favorite among B-SUV customers. The steady growth in our dealership network demonstrates our focus on enhancing accessibility and customer experience.".

Moving ahead, with the recent announcement of the introduction of an All-New 7-seater B-MPV and 5-seater C-SUV, we are aimed at providing a thrilling portfolio of products and further building our dealer network for improving customer experience."

Conclusion

Nissan India's stellar performance during FY2024-25 with its seven-year high sales is a reflection of the robust market presence and strategic expertise of the brand. With total sales crossing 99,000 units, with the majority contributed by the popularity of the Nissan Magnite, the company has consolidated its position as a major player within the domestic as well as export markets.

The export boom, with the New Magnite now entering 65+ international markets, marks India's increasing position as a car-manufacturing and export center. Further, Nissan's future products, such as the all-new 7-seater B-MPV and 5-seater C-SUV, demonstrate the brand's resolve to increase its product portfolio and support changing consumer needs.

In spite of challenges in the industry, Nissan India continues to focus on sustainable growth through product development, network strengthening, and strategic reorganization. With ongoing investment in the Indian market, the company is positioned to continue its success and accelerate further momentum over the next few years.
