Next-Generation Self-Driving Cars by Toyota to Get Power by Nvidia Chips
Announcing his grand plan to the world at CES 2025, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said, "At CES 2025, the company announced a game-changing relationship with Toyota," adding, "All future self-driving cars will be enabled using the world's first production deployment of Clouds-as-a-Computing Platform that is meant to process real-time data through intelligent automated AI technology."
Huang describes the Cosmos platform as "the world's first world's foundation model" and said it will revolutionize the way autonomous vehicles and robots will function. The wonderful thing about such an AI embedded in those next-gen self-driving cars by Toyota is that it is said to herald the most high-performance and capable autonomous driving yet. By putting this powerful AI into Toyota's next-gen self-driving vehicles, the partnership promises to bring a new level of performance and capability to autonomous driving.
It has an onboard computer built on this same Cosmos AI, the cutting-edge self-driving technology that Nvidia Drive AGX produces. The whole system works in three core stages:
Creates realistic images: The platform catches hallucinatory, unreal videos and photographs so that the vehicle can know what real-life happenings are like at that moment.
Synthetic Data Creation: It creates realistic words so that such vehicles can later perform fast identification in complicated driving scenarios and the multiple ways that humans behave.
Simulation Testing: The Nvidia Omniverse platform tests and improves all data in a virtual environment, waiting for the world to end before putting them to work.
Huang mentions the gigantic promise that this technology promises to convert into autonomous vehicles, describing it as the "first trillion-dollar robotics market." This new system will affect the commercial aspect and cause another change in the industry's safety.
Nvidia has taken many years to expand its connection with the automobile industry through collaborations with various firms to advance autonomous vehicle technologies.
