New BMW 7 Series Unveiled With Refreshed Design, Panoramic iDrive Cabin and a 31.3-Inch Rear Theatre Screen
The refreshed BMW 7 Series debuts with revised lighting, new 22-inch alloys, and a redesigned interior featuring BMW's Panoramic iDrive layout.
The rear cabin retains the 31.3-inch Theatre Screen with 8K streaming, backed by an optional 36-speaker, Bowers & Wilkins sound system with Dolby Atmos.
The new BMW 7 Series has been revealed globally, and it arrives with a set of thoughtful exterior revisions that tighten up the sedan's overall presence. The most visible changes are to the headlamps and tail-lamps, both of which receive a fresh lighting signature that gives the car a more contemporary face.
New 22-inch alloy wheels fill out the arches with added authority, and while the overall silhouette remains unmistakably 7 Series, the cumulative effect of these updates is a car that looks noticeably more resolved than before.
Step inside and the changes become far more dramatic. BMW has introduced its new Panoramic iDrive setup, which brings a noticeably cleaner and more modern dashboard arrangement. The steering wheel has also been redesigned and now features a distinctive vertical twin-spoke layout, setting it apart from anything the 7 Series has worn before.
Rear passengers receive additional space alongside fresh luxury touches, reinforcing the car's appeal as much as a chauffeur's vehicle as a driver's one.
The panoramic sunroof has not been left out either. It now incorporates 40 integrated LEDs, raising the quality of the cabin's ambient lighting and adding a layer of drama to the interior environment.
BMW has gone all-in on screens. Up front, a 17.9-inch rhomboidal infotainment touchscreen takes pride of place, joined by a 14.6-inch display for the front passenger.
In the rear, the 31.3-inch Theatre Screen makes a return, now offering 8K streaming. The optional Bowers & Wilkins sound system raises the bar further, with up to 36 speakers that include units built into the headrests, all working in tandem with Dolby Atmos and a 4D soundscape feature to deliver what BMW describes as an enhanced audio experience.
Beyond the screens, the new 7 Series brings a notable upgrade to its driver assistance package. The hands-free motorway assist system now operates at speeds of up to 130kmph, while Park Assist has been made standard across the range. Welcome and goodbye animations add a theatrical touch to the experience of entering or leaving the car.
On the powertrain front, buyers can choose between petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric versions. This broad spread ensures that the 7 Series can meet varied demands whilst sitting comfortably within BMW's wider electrification strategy.
Taken together, the updates make a compelling case. The new BMW 7 Series is not merely a refreshed luxury saloon. It is, perhaps more than any previous generation, a mobile living space where technology, comfort, and refinement have been deliberately placed at the very front of the brief.
