Maruti Suzuki will release the e Vitara in March 2025, as inlet bookings are to be declared in the near future. Maruti Suzuki revealed the e Vitara for India a while back at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, and it is expected to go on sale in March.
Based on the e-Heartect platform, this mid-size electric SUV comes in three trims, namely Delta, Zeta, and Alpha, which are typical naming patterns for Maruti Suzuki vehicles. The buyers will get to choose from ten colors out of which there will be six single-tone colors and four dual-tone colors. Made using more than 50 percent high-tensile steel, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara offers an extremely rigid and solid structure.
The primary indicator of the rigid and solid structure claims that it should have a wheelbase of 2,700 mm along with short overhangs, which more generally results in a well-balanced stance as well as a tight turning radius-in this scenario, 5.2 meters-makes city driving maneuverability easier.
The e Vitara will compete with Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra BE 6. Inside, the cabin gets the dual-tone treatment as well as the vertically positioned AC vents wherein the door armrests are made of breathable Melange Fabric. The interior is embellished with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
A 48.8 kWh battery pack and a behemoth 61.1 kWh variant are available for the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara in India. But the all-wheel-drive technology will never be available to Indian customers. The Delta variant will come with the 48.8 kWh battery as the only choice, while Zeta and Alpha will come with both variants. All variants will get 70 kW DC fast charging to improve recharge speeds.
The e-Vitara can travel just over 500 km on a full charge, says Maruti Suzuki. The juice for the LFP battery packs comes from BYD. In the 48.8 kWh variant, a single electric motor with 142 bhp of power and 192.5 Nm of torque is coupled; the 61.1 kWh variant, however, gets a bigger output of 172 bhp while the same torque ratings are maintained.
Other options include an Infinity by Harman audio system, advanced in-car connectivity, and Level 2 ADAS for added safety. Auto climate control comes with PM 2.5 air filtration packaged while seven airbags protect all sides. Other options include drive modes, ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, a wireless smartphone charger, ambient lighting, and a 360-degree camera. The second-row seats recline and slide and the driver's seat receives a 10-way electrical adjustment.
