
The 2026 Maruti Baleno has crossed 25,000 units in sales during its first month after going on sale in India.
The updated hatchback starts at ₹5.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and gets a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with manual and AMT options.
Maruti Suzuki's updated Baleno has crossed the 25,000-unit sales mark in its first month on sale in India. Priced from ₹5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the hatchback gets changes to its design and features, along with a new petrol engine.
One of the changes to the updated Baleno is its new petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki has replaced the older 1.2-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with the advanced 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E engine.
Power & Torque: Produces 82 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque.
Fuel Efficiency: Claimed mileage of up to 24.77 kmpl.
Transmission Choices: Buyers can choose between a standard 5-speed manual gearbox and an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).
The AMT transmission is also available with the CNG version for the first time. The same CNG-AMT combination has also been introduced for the Swift and Dzire.

The Baleno competes in the premium hatchback segment against the Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza and Tata Altroz.
The updated model also previews changes that are expected to be seen on the Maruti Fronx and Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, while the refreshed Glanza is scheduled to launch later this month.
