Mahindra launched the four-variant Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG on October 15, 2026, at Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 12.27 lakh (ex-showroom), with test drives open now and bookings and deliveries starting October 20, 2026.
All four manual trims use a 1,197 cc three-cylinder turbo engine making 82 kW and 200 Nm in both modes, paired with twin under-floor cylinders that preserve 270 litres of flat boot space.
The sub-4-metre SUV debuted in April 2024 with petrol and diesel options (Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 15.04 lakh ex-showroom, manual and automatic), crossed 2.5 lakh sales in under 2.5 years, and added the XUV 3XO EV (Rs 13.89 lakh to Rs 15.46 lakh) in January 2026. This fourth fuel option takes on the Tata Nexon CNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG.
Mahindra announced prices and started test drives for the Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG across India on October 15, 2026, pitching its factory-fitted compressed natural gas (CNG) SUV under a "Zero Compromise" promise.
Sold only with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the range covers four ex-showroom trims before tax and insurance: MX Edge (Rs 9.99 lakh), REVX Edge (O) (Rs 10.79 lakh), AX5 (Rs 11.19 lakh) and REVX A (Rs 12.27 lakh).
It uses the 1.2-litre turbocharged multipoint fuel injection (TCMPFi) engine rather than the stronger TGDi petrol motor, running a 10-bar gas injection system instead of the usual 5-bar to 6-bar industry pressure. Output stays at 82 kW and 200 Nm in both modes; 111 hp or 110 bhp figures in some reports reflect unit rounding, not a different tune. Its 200 Nm matches the base petrol (112 to 130 PS, 200 to 230 Nm), trails the diesel (117 PS, 300 Nm), and beats the Nexon CNG (100 hp, 170 Nm, 24 km/kg, 321-litre boot) and Brezza CNG (about 88 hp, 122 Nm, 25.5 to 26.9 km/kg).
The table lists the confirmed India specifications.

Twin under-floor cylinders leave a flat, sill-level 270-litre boot (down from 364 litres in petrol), paired with an underbody spare wheel and retuned suspension for the extra weight.
Cabin updates include a fuel-mode switch, automatic petrol switchover when gas runs low, dual-fuel consumption readouts and exterior "ZNG" badges. The MX Edge gets a touch display, cruise control, rear vents and split seats, while higher trims add larger screens, a sunroof, leather seats and a camera (full specs are in the brochure).
Six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX mounts, four-wheel disc brakes, anti-lock braking system (ABS), sensors and three-point seatbelts are standard. While the XUV 3XO earned five Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) stars in 2024, the CNG version's crash rating is unconfirmed.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG pairs class-leading 200 Nm CNG torque with a usable flat boot, though drivers wanting an automatic gearbox must stick to petrol, diesel or electric trims.
Mahindra has not disclosed the CNG tank capacity, booking amount, waiting period, on-road prices or CNG warranty terms beyond the three-year standard warranty with roadside assistance. Before October 20, ask your dealer for the booking amount, on-road quote and CNG warranty, and verify the filling procedure to prevent gas leaks and fire.
