As we approach Independence Day 2025, Mahindra is keeping the hype going with one more captured teaser of its much-hyped Vision S electric SUV.
The idea, which can be seen as a preview to the all-electric iteration of the Scorpio N, is also a part of the ambitious EV strategy of Mahindra that encompasses the electrification. Some of its most famous ICE vehicles include Thar, Bolero, or the whole XUV line.
The teaser that just came out is giving away not much, just enough to arouse interest, a bulky, off-road-ready stance, high ground clearance and a massive front fascia partially hidden by shadows.
Heavy-duty off-road tyres and upright proportions indicate that the Vision S will retain the rough DNA of the Scorpio, although, in the electric era, it receives a futuristic design.
Mahindra has already demonstrated its interest with earlier concept cars such as the Thar.e and has planned the launch of XEV 7e, which is an electric derivative of the XUV.
The Vision S will extend that with the same kind of inspiration in the Scorpio N but it will be on an EV platform dedicated to this purpose.
The concept will also be a probable reason to have an electric pickup sister, the Vision SXT, that will fit into the global strategy of Mahindra. The Vision SXT will take cues in terms of design from its predecessor, the Global Pickup concept that was earlier shown by Mahindra.
Vision S will be introduced on the fifth consecutive Independence Day, when Mahindra introduces new products. We had several milestone launches in the previous years, which included Thar (2020), XUV700 (2021), XUV.e8 (2022), Thar.e and Global Pikup (2023) and XUV3XO (2024).
The Vision S and SXT not only show the Mahindra continuing its long tradition but also repeating its intent to transfer its legacy models into the era of EVs. This will officially launch on August 15, 2025, and will mark one of the most important stages in the history of electric vehicles in India.
