Mahindra Collaborates on Futuristic Vehicle for Dystopian Film 'Kalki 2898 AD'

The forthcoming dystopian sci-fi film "Kalki 2898 AD" is generating significant buzz not only due to its star-studded cast but also because of an innovative vehicle, the Bujji robot car.

This real-life, futuristic car was developed with the assistance of the Mahindra Research Valley team in Chennai, who provided their expertise in powertrain configuration, architecture, and performance. The vehicle was then assembled by Jayem Automotives, resulting in a one-of-a-kind cinematic prop.

Voiced by acclaimed actress Keerthy Suresh, the car exhibits human-like behavioral patterns, adding a unique dimension to the film. Recently unveiled in Hyderabad, the car made a dramatic debut with lead actor Prabhas making a grand entrance. Its distinct design features two hubless wheels at the front and a spherical wheel at the rear, making it an intriguing element of the film's futuristic setting.

Technical Specifications

The Bujji robot car stands out with its impressive dimensions and power. Measuring 6,047mm in length, 3,380mm in width, and 2,186mm in height, the vehicle weighs a hefty 6,000kg. The rear spherical wheel is powered by two electric motors from Mahindra, delivering a total system output of around 126hp and a staggering torque of 980Nm. A substantial 47kWh battery pack powers this colossal vehicle, ensuring it remains operational throughout its cinematic journey.

Equipped with 34.5-inch hubless rims fitted with custom CEAT tires, the car also features canopy-style doors and a distinctive rear spherical tire.
