Check out how it compares to the original.

Kia EV6 Facelift: All That Changed and All That Improved for the EV6

The new Kia EV6, which made its first appearance in India in June 2022, gets an all-new mid-life makeover with design improvements, tech upgrades, and an extended range due to the additional battery capacity.

However, the best part is that the price remains the same at ₹65.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the GT-Line AWD variant, making it one of the most attractive additions to the line of electric vehicles in the country.

From new front and rear bumpers to a fresh LED DRL signature and a bigger battery, here's a deep dive into what all is new in the facelifted Kia EV6.

Exterior Design: More Stimulating Dynamics

The grandest visual changes on the new Kia EV6 can be seen at the front. The headlamp has been repositioned lower in the bumper that takes on a more angular design. The most striking update is the new LED DRL signature, which stretches across the width of the car, replacing the older winged design.

Then, on the sides, to introduce a new design to the 19-inch alloy wheels, the curved LED tail-lights feature a fresh lighting signature at rear. The dual-tone rear bumper too receives minor interventions from Kia, adding just that bit to the overall sporty looking of the EV6.

Interior & Features: Smart Upgrades that Feel Premium

Inside the cabin, Kia has introduced a new three-spoke steering wheel, replacing the previous two-spoke flat-bottom unit. A fingerprint sensor has been integrated into the steering wheel, allowing registered drivers to start the car without a key—a useful security feature.

The dual 12.3-inch screens remain unchanged, but their housing has been slightly redesigned for a more seamless look. Additionally, the centre console now features a textured finish, replacing the old gloss-black surface, which was prone to fingerprint marks.

Remains Powerhouse Feature Highlights

The facelifted Kia EV6 comes with a full loaded equipment list like:

  • Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay

  • 360 degree camera

  • Ventilated front seats

  • 14-speaker Meridian sound system

  • Ambient lighting

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) & Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging

  • Over-the-air (OTA) Software updates

Powertrain & Battery: More Range, While Performance Remains Similar

Well, the most significant thing for a new EV6 is definitely the new upgrade under the hood. Kia has equipped the model with a larger, 84kWh battery (compared to the former 77.4kWh), extending its claimed WLTP range by 581km, a 53km hike over the previous model.

The entry-level RWD variant has thus been discontinued since the power and torque ratings remain the same. The AWD now takes a slightly longer time of 5.3 seconds to get to 100kph; it was previously 5.2 seconds, but that is something one couldn't care less about with greater range as a by-product.

Pricing & Values: More for the Same Price

Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD remains priced at ₹65.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India) despite all changes. Now without any RWD variant available, the entry-level price has increased.

Buyers for this price now get:

  • A more attractive and futuristic design

  • A larger battery that offers much higher range

  • An upgraded cabin experience in terms of smartness and opulence

With these changes, Kia has made the facelift EV6 more attractive without changing its price, thus making it among the best-valued premium electric cars in India today.

A Fitting Upgrade for Electric Vehicle Consumers

The facelifted Kia EV6 brings substantial improvements in styling, technology, and range-the attributes that matter most to buyers. New light signature, fingerprint sensor, and textured center console material combine premium appeal and ambiance, whereas a larger 84kWh battery brings a 581km range for free.

It just makes the new Kia EV6 an all the better prospect for the premium electric SUV segment in India by bringing style, performance, and long-range credentials for the price.
