In 2026, the BMW M440i Convertible will be introduced to the luxury automotive market in India.
Details about this thrilling new premium drop-top's features, performance, and cost
By mid-2026, BMW plans to launch the M440i xDrive Convertible in India, offering owners of high-end performance cars an exhilarating open-top experience. The M440i Convertible, which is intended to compete with the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet, intends to close the gap left by the widely canceled Z4 by providing significant performance, superior comfort, and flair.
The BMW M440i Convertible transforms the 4 Series Coupe's elegant design language into a chic drop-top. Its soft-top fabric roof, which can open or close in just 18 seconds, even at speeds of up to 50 km/h, is its most notable feature. This implies that there are no compromises when it comes to enjoying outdoor driving.
The exterior features 19-inch alloy wheels, dynamic M badging, and narrow LED headlamps that flank BMW's iconic kidney grilles. The automobile has a striking rear profile thanks to slim LED taillamps and an integrated spoiler.
The M440i Convertible has a contemporary, driver-focused cabin with four seats. A digital driver display, a flat-bottom M-sport steering wheel, and a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen infotainment system dominate the dashboard.
A 12-speaker Harman Kardon music system, wireless smartphone charging, ambient lighting, and cozy powered sports seats with memory are examples of high-end features.
Comfort and convenience are improved by extra amenities such as an automated climate control system and a heads-up display.
BMW's powerful 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six engine, which generates around 374 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, powers the M440i Convertible. This engine is mated to BMW's sophisticated xDrive all-wheel drive system and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
With a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h, the automobile can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in roughly 4.9 seconds.
Although BMW has not yet formally announced the launch date, rumors suggest that it will debut in India in the middle of 2026. With an estimated ex-showroom price of ₹1.1 crore, the M440i Convertible will be competitively priced versus the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet. For enthusiasts looking for an open-to-premium care experience, this pricing makes sense given its performance and luxury positioning.
