Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced the standardisation of 3-point seatbelt and seat belt reminders for all seats across its entire lineup. The company’s key safety enhancement initiatives taken in 2023 includes airbag standardisation. In addition to the Hyundai Tuscon and Hyundai Kona, the standardisation of six airbags was extended to Creta, Alcazar and Ioniq 5. Additionally, Hyundai Venue was upgraded with four airbags as standard on major volume variants. The Grand i10 Nios and Aura were also offered with four airbags as standard.
The Hyundai Verna is also offered with six airbags as standard. The Creta and Alcazar were also upgraded with a host of standard active and passive safety features including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), and rear disc brakes to name a few.
Commenting on the same, Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India said, “Customer safety is our utmost priority and we have been the forerunners in standardisation of safety features. At Hyundai, we are committed to consistently elevate the safety standards of our product line-up and thus, in sync with Indian Government’s direction, we have upgraded our full range model line-up with 3-point seatbelt and seatbelt reminders for all seats as a standard offering. We firmly believe that Safety feature standardisation will offer superior protection for our customers.”
The application of Hyundai Smart Sense Level-2 ADAS features has been extended from Tuscon in 2022 to Ioniq 5 and the Verna as well at present. It will be further expanded to other popular models going ahead.
