Hyundai Exter EX Hy-CNG Duo Launched at Rs 7.51 Lakh

In light of this, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has expanded its green mobility portfolio through the launch of a new Exter EX Hy-CNG Duo variant.

Priced at Rs 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom), this entry-level model is now the most affordable version of the Exter equipped with Hyundai's dual-cylinder CNG technology, thus bringing efficient bi-fuel mobility within reach of the more budget-conscious buyer.

Ever More Affordable

Until now, this Exter Hy-CNG Duo was limited to the mid- to top-trim variants-S, SX, and SX Knight- priced from Rs 8.50 lakh. Thus, the arrival of the EX variant induces a price cut of nearly Rs 1 lakh that would step up its appeal to buyers and allow Hyundai to compete better with rivals such as the Tata Punch i-CNG, which was the first one to introduce dual-cylinder tech in this segment.

Features and Safety

Though an entry model, the Exter EX Hy-CNG Duo does have some generous features. Some highlights are:

  • 6 airbags as standard

  • 3-point seatbelts for all passengers

  • Driver's seat height adjustment

  • Keyless entry

  • H-shaped LED tail lights

  • 4.2-inch TFT MID display in the instrument cluster

This rather high degree of safety becomes a strong selling point where the EX trim is concerned, especially suited to urban families in search of an affordable and secure ride.

Performance and Efficiency

Under the hood, the Exter EX Hy-CNG Duo houses a 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that is bi-fuel capable. On CNG, it delivers 68 bhp and 95.2 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Hyundai claims a fuel efficiency of 27.1 km/kg, excellent for people searching for lower running costs.

A Step Toward Greener Mobility

On this occasion, Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and COO, Hyundai Motor India, said, "This new EX variant is part of our vision to make smart and sustainable mobility more accessible. With bi-fuel efficiency, safety, and affordability, the Exter EX Hy-CNG Duo represents value-driven innovation."

With the introduction of this model, Hyundai continues to build upon the vision of green, smart mobility, ensuring that efficiency and innovation go hand in hand for its consumers in India.
