Ford Everest V6 Diesel: Powerhouse SUV Likely to Debut in India Soon
Ford is currently toying with the idea of launching Everest locally as the Endeavour in India. This time, the SUV could feature a 3.0L V6 diesel engine; a strategy that will see it square it up with competitors such as the Toyota Fortuner. Through all these prospects, this larger engine is forecasted to boost the appeal of the Everest as it is likely to be priced higher than before.
The 3.0L V6 diesel engine has been noticed in the Everest which churns out 250hp at 3,250 RPM and a wonderful torque of 600 Nm between 1,750 to 2,250 RPM. Manufactured in South Africa, this engine is engineered for strength and refinement, featuring:
A common rail and a single variable nozzle turbocharger.
Dual overhead camshafts.
A forged steel crankshaft to extend the product's life.
The V6 diesel is just as impressive and has been exhibited in markets such as Australia and the US powering Ford’s Ranger pickup and F150. Because of the high torque and a smooth supply of power, this item is suitable for intense and lengthy use.
Known as the ‘Lion’ this has also been developed in partnership with Land Rover and has a renowned reliability factor. The Everest’s addition of the V6 variant may provide Ford an opportunity to expand its range to offer more powerful and luxurious SUVS to consumers.
